Do experimental weapon effects affect NPC ships?

Just wondering if things like target lock breaker and dispersal field have the same affect against NPC ships as they do player ships? Thanks!

Absolutely. Target lock breaker is kinda pants though because they can select and retarget you immediately. Dispersal field works though and is fun to put on a fast ship - I put it on the nose of a courier to meme on NPC condas and corvettes.

Pop some force shell cannons into your mother ship and nip out to the side in a fighter to watch the resultant hilarity, the NPC's really get flung around.

boy oh boy do I love forcecannons, one of my favourite videos was from the POV of someone getting attacked by a conda as they took off from an engineer base in their cutter - sadly for the conda, the cutter was packing force cannons and they just boosted to gain the altitude advantage before opening up on them - what followed was a relentless piledriving into the planet surface that would make the Undertaker proud.

FSD reboot on dumbfires (and presumably grom bombs) does not work on NPC. I noticed this behavior myself, and was about to file a bug report except someone beat me to it: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/429347-FSD-REBOOTdo-not-work-on-NPCS

As has been noted by other posters, TLB works, but is basically useless as NPC can effectively spam "target highest threat" at superhuman rates. Dispersal and force shock have worked for me.

NPC Frameshift drives in general are bugged.

FD claimed to have fixed the magic no cool down on miners, and on first interdiction they will operate correctly. However if you damage their ships enough to make them jump away they will then switch to cheat mode and "Hyperdrive charging" message will occour the instant an interdiction ends.

There are many bugs. This is just one.
