I don't understand. You seem relative n00b pilot CMDR like myself. But clearly more experienced, since you could finally afford an Anaconda. Yet you didn't first
1. make sure to SAVE UP for the necessary insurance BEFORE
2. attempting to fly your first real ship in open play? When you could've easily lowered this risk by
3. opting to remain in Solo play (until you became more experienced at PvP) or
4. opting for PG play mode i.e. like with a PvE group like Moebius where rules explicitly forbid players from attacking each other?

Or are you saying you were in a PG play mode when attacked? Because if not, you're reaping the fruits of your ignorance.........

I remember playing in open for ages, before realising you could switch. Got hammered loads of times as well..but it was when I was starting out, so small ships. A pain, a lot of work, but also a lot of experience.

Flying a completely e rated ship is something that just wouldn't enter my head, even when I moved out of my Sidewinder. Probably why I'm struggling this. Funny how they've read the guide on how to make money quick but missed everything on how to survive for 10 minutes.

Less than that if you are prepared to collect manually or fly without shields
