Horizons Make planets with atmos landable please!!!

I think maybe its time to address the rich metal and lower terrestrial planets that have atmospheres and cannot be landed on.

Over half the mineral laden planets ive scouted out (over 5000+) cannot not be landed on because they have an atmosphere.

Common folks were flying around the Galaxy mining rocks in space, scooping from stars for fuel, you telling me my ship is to fragile to land on a rocky planet because it has an atmosphere?

That's got nothing to do with it. FD is going to roll out what they feel is a good enough standard for atmo worlds which will be procedurally generated for as many planets as possible. I dunno what their ambitions are but I'm guessing at least some atmo effects on terrain and flight model, maybe a bit of weather and weathering. Until they feel they can do that they won't be half-donkeying a few planets with atmospheric shaders. That's just a waste of dev time.

Ships don't have heat shields.

You might want to rethink that statement :)

You have shields if you decide to mount a generator!
You can modify your shields via engineers and make them thermal resistant!

You can mount Hull plates and/or Armor either type with thermal resists again with even more resistance via Engineers!

This also has the added effect of decreasing your heat output thus a reduction of your heat signature making you harder to spot!
(My asp has Engineer modded shields and hull plates My overall signature is 14% at full speed locally and only increases to 41% while jumping, when I come out of a jump my thermal sig is only 46% and lastly I can sit next to a Star at 67% refueling with no damage.

So there is heat shielding and resistance if you want to take the time to mod up your systems ;)

I am probably missing allot of info or misstating some faq's from lack of knowledge but that's what I have found it to be true for all of my ships the numbers just vary a bit between different types.

Well they can build gigantic cities in the sky, fly thousands of times faster than the speed of light but still have yet to develop even the most simple form of what we might call an 'auto pilot' ;)
