Notable Stellar Phenomena at the second base camp

Hello Commanders,

I'm trying to catch up with the fleet and currently in the PRU AESCS NC-M D7-192 system. I found two Notable Stellar Phenomena and I wanted to look into them.

First one turned up to be crystals in star shape, I scanned them using my Wake Scan and gained some codex entries but on my lower left corner it says Analyzing Scan - Unexplored.

Should I do something specific here?

Scan them with the composition scanner.

Also, these crystal things are usually only one item in a phenomena. Those blips (if none are present move in a bit) are often critters. Some are very small.

I'm pretty sure they come as standard. Open up your fire groups in the right hand UI; you should be able to assign a trigger to it.

Truth. All ships have one. Not assigned to a fire group when you start. At least not on any ships I had before the last update and I haven't bought any since.

I did have one.

I tried it before, now whenever I try to use it on the star shaped crystals it says "No New Traits Found"

Should I continue scanning until I find something?

Some items will reveal new traits if you scan them again and they get added to the codex. I've seen this with some of the molluscs for example, one of them has the ability to strip shields. However some things do not have additional traits or you get to the point where you have discovered them all, so you get the "no new traits found" message. So for whatever you were scanning at the time you have basically learned all you can from it.

I tried it on several Metallic Crystals and P01-Type Anomalies but the Notable Stellar Phenomena still is Unexplored.
