As I solo player, I want to wing up with NPC as a wing lead.

Why do I need this?

During my solo experience in the game I've met some challenges that I just can't handle by myself.

Are those challenges really impossible to handle?

I don't say that this is totally impossible. I can find videos how other players do such things in solo. It is possible. But I do not like and do not want such experience.

Yet another way to solve the challenges is to group with other players.
Such approach demands:
1. communication skills
I spend my time with PC definitely not looking for communications. I'm playing the game. And I do not want the game to push me into this direction.

2. synchronization.
I am rather grown up person with my real life. I do realize that my time sinks and nothing is able to replenish it. I barely imaging how I can sync with rest of the players to be in the game in the same time without any kind delays and waitings to have a game session full of fun and "above expectations".

So what do you want exactly?

In a solo mode I want to group up with npcs with various pilot skills, I am OK with providing one of my own ships, I am OK to pay more credits for higher skilled pilots. I am OK if they will be handled same way as NPC crew members handled now, I mean level ups, shared profit regardless to their involvement and so on.
I want them to fly with me and do things I tell them to do in the same scope as NPC crew member.

Edit: and for OPEN also, because "Having NPC wings exclusively in Solo goes against that[game's] design."

Can't give it my support then, sorry - goes against the game's design philosophy.

Could you please elaborate about game's design philosophy?
What I see now: game provides challenges which obviously designed for group of players. Doing such tasks in solo changes game experience in a bad way. I am OK with feature to group with real people in the game because somebody would like to play with friends. I do not want spend my time looking and comunicating with real people to play together. But, as a player, eventually I will lose interest and will not play that areas. I am pretty sure that I will have bright and fun sessions with my npcs wing.

I'm sure that someone could find a use for a wing of hired thugs in PvP too ;)

To be honest I see no profit in it. If everyone has his wing then all become equal. It will change gameplay but won't change balance.

Solo is the only mode for it to be viable. In open or pg, 4 players forming a wing would become 4 players and 4 wings. This is not what FD wants.
I would love to form a wing in solo for a thargoid hunt but it will never happen most likely.

Wing size should be limited and be a fixed number. And the limit should be the same for players and npc. And the limit should not change regardless to nature of its members.
Seems, that such things as "4 players with own things in a one wing" should not exist: if player enters new wing then the game should exclude him from previous one.

It is not clear why it is possible to wing up real players agains thargoids but npc wing against thargoids is forbidden?

The game is designed to deliver the same content over the three modes (or filters), as far as reasonably possible - this is achievable because the modes are just social filters and the only content being filtered out is other players. Having NPC wings exclusively in Solo goes against that design.

Or her wing, if we're concerned with equality here. No problem then - hired thugs for all! :)

Then I am completely OK to have the wings in OPEN also.

this would be so kickass, Id be into them having randomized ships/rank to keep them unique and just that much harder to hire 3 elite anacondas. so the majority of hirable pilots would be flying vipers and eagles and a few rare FDLs and chieftains and like 1 out of a million would be in a conda.

I'm ok with it being solo only as long as the kills doesn't count towards influence in anyway extra. I'm open this would be abused to hell you'd have wing fights with 4 players and their NPC's.

I would expect these wings to be just like any other wings with players. Max 4 in a wing, so you cannot wing up with your friends if you are already in a full wing.

If 4 players thinks it is a good idea to fly in their own NPCs wings, I see no problems with that. There can already today we several separate player wings in a system/location.
