Distant Worlds II Event Science Department

I don't think local stars should be counted. Best to use your left panel filter to only shows 'systems'. Saying that, the max I always get is 49 systems.

Thanks for the response otoboke. You may be right - I carefully reread Satsuma’s directions and he does say, “It tries to show systems within 20 light years, but if there are more than 50, it only shows the 50 nearest, including the system you are in.” That is, “system” and not “star.” So only the home system and not home stars should be counted. Guess I’ll start over with the scans . Only done two so far so not much of a loss I suppose.

In all fairness, I'm fully expecting to discard the first month's data. We're all figuring this out (I thought my original instructions were clear, but I'm learning about all the holes in them :D ), and learning how to get good data. As we get closer to the core and beyond, though, I think we'll all be veterans, and that's where the data will start becoming really valuable.

Gah, I've saved up 20 columns and 1000+ TGMS scans like a good little space-scientist squirrel over the last month. For the sake of my sanity and many hours devoted to my pursuit, let's play pretend like they're going to be a tad useful! ^.^

Oh, don't get me wrong! I'm still going to run the numbers! I'm just taking the results with a grain of salt. :D
