Please stop giving us bounties when security forces ram us!!!

After some quick searching on the web I see this has been a problem for years and my cries will likely fall on deaf ears but please fix this issue. Security forces are ramming me almost everytime I go bounty hunting in res sites. This isn't a trigger discipline issue where I'm nicking them which in of itself is ridiculous that you get a bounty for such a low credit amount instead of a fine.

This happens more when I'm in either my conda or vette and almost never happens when I'm flying my Krait mk2, fdl or other med/small ships in my fleet. At first I thought I was nicking them but just had a incident that proved it's from them ramming my ship. Was in a res just now in the vette and slowed down to a complete stop and tagged a wanted eagle real quick then stopped firing. My vette has full g5 engineering and shields are maxed with even resistances so I just sat still as it fired at me and waited for the cops to come. They killed it before it even scratched a ring off my shields and then one of those blind pigs rammed into me while scanning me after the battle and gave me a bounty. I never moved a inch or fired my weapons after initially tagging the eagle.....I did not nick him at all.

This is really getting annoying before I would just leave quickly and go clear my name at a interstellar factor but my patience is running out and out of indignation I'm starting to slaughter these blind as hell cops when this happens. I killed 3 of them just now and with a full shield and 2 class 7 shield banks I could've stayed and gone Tigtone on all of em if I wanted and give them a real reason to give me a bounty.

I've played almost completely clean until this point and have only had a few bounties from planetary scan missions but this asanine bounty system is turning me to the dark side with a quickness. We should NOT be getting bounties this easily and for such low amounts especially when the COPS RAM US. I'm glad I avoided combat almost entirely in the beginning cause with how hard this game is at the start I would have surely rage quitted with this added on top of everything else I was doing to build my cmmdr up.

It's really quite intellectually offensive if you take a moment to think about it. Imagine in real life you are parked in your driveway about to leave for work or something and hear sirens all of a sudden. There's a cop chasing somebody down your street and he loses control and careens into your still parked unmoving vehicle. Instead of getting out to see if your ok and apologize he instead unloads his pistol into your car while screaming "you just tried to kill me you sob DIE DIE DIE".

It's really ridiculous when you stop to think about it and the worst part is that fdev COULD fix this if they wanted to. Two easy fixes would be to eliminate bounties for under 10k creds there's just no excuse for them. The other would be to implement the same rules of engagement that people have in conflict zones in res sites. In conflict zones the game knows if you are actually meaning to attack a clean ship/ally and doesn't punish you for such frivolous infractions but magically assumes you to be the guilty party everywhere else. You'd think these Mr Magoo-like cops would know your not a pirate after watching you mercilessly slaughter 50 pirates in a row but that's too logical I guess.

Apparently the lesson here is that all res sites except for haz res sites are utterly useless. If you go to any res sites that have police in them it's only a matter of time before one of them rams you, gives you a bounty and then proceeds to try to shoot you down. Bravo guys....bravo

Ive actually been issued bounties for NPC's flying into my ship and self destructing while my ship was stationary so I feel your pain.

There a reason why I use headphones and view my Radar. Combine both and you can avoid most ramming. I am also flying an Anaconda or Vett or cutter and not having an issue with ramming.

I dont typically have an issue either, its usualy when im idling and my attention is elsewhere, i think in the 3 years that ive been playing this game ive been rammed a total of 5 times that resulted in the NPC dying.

Then maybe a Bug report should be done. If a ship hitting you and you get a Bounty from it. Maybe an idea is to do Video of the problem.

Got no issues viewing my radar and never get rammed elsewhere nor do I have any trouble not ramming other ships even in congested starports. This happens when I slow down to let my collector limpets collect mats from all the pirate corpses I pile up in res sites. I tend to try to pile them up in one area that's around 1.5km in radius so my limpets don't exceed their range and lure more pirates to the same area with long range lasers. I slow down and a system cop boosts in from offscreen at full speed and does cartwheels across the length of my vettes hull. I'm not saying it's constant either prolly happens once per hour or so when I'm bounty hunting.

So basically your saying in addition to watching our own rear ends and looking out for hostiles we have to always assume the police are out to ram us and actively boost away from them? Sounds pretty damn silly tbh plus if I slow down to collect mats it's pretty damn hard to out maneuver a viper or other small ship that the system cops commonly fly as he boosts towards me to scan me. But yeah this is a non issue there aren't tons of others out there having the cops ram into them like this. I'm sure if you Google it I'll be the only one, there wont be page after page after page of people describing the same or very similar scenario....nope just me lol.

From the many times that it's happened to me plus many others I've seen that have posted about it's not a one off bug and has been happening since the game came out pretty much.

Intrestingly, NPC's are able to avoid collisions. Somebody ever tried to kill a 5% Hull NPC via ramming 'cause the weapons were reloading? Was somebody successfull doing so? :D
Even T-9s can avoid collision magically at 200m when i press *boost* on my Chieftain

So it shouldn't be that hard to make the cops a bit smarter to avoid ramming. But maybe they have the trigger for scan and boostung on the same button :D:D:D

I do believe the "AI" is using wishful thinking that any ship will move by the time they get to that point, regardless if that ship is actually moving or not. Just like howe NPC have that anti ramming system... sadly we did not get that module in our ships.

If you're stationary and not firing why would you get fined/bounty?

That's my plan Bortas I was only in the high res to test new weapon loadouts in what I thought was relative safety but now it seems I'm safer without police in haz res sites. I almost completely avoided combat for the longest time while I unlocked most the engineers and made my money exploring deep space. I only have around 1k bounties claimed and while not new to combat I'm not a veteran either and am still testing different stuff out a lot.

Because the system authority rammed me as he was scanning me and fdev considers that assault on a peace officer apparently. I watched him tumble across my hull then he changed from green to red and I got a alert saying I just got a 600cr bounty. Then he opened fire which was a very bad decision for him and his two buddies as they were all space debris a minute later.

Edit: sorry avow555 didn't see you were asking lestat that and thought that question was for me

Lol I'd happily give up one of my class 7 slots for one if such a module was available to us.

If it is too hard to make them smarter at least convert these to fines and not kill on sight bounties. Why the heck do they have to get so close to scan us too? Even with the worst possible sensor package there's no need for them to literally get in our face to scan us.

Decided to test this out again in the exact same system and res site as before and just run if it happened again and the system cops were on their best behavior. Maybe the memory of their 3 fallen comrades changed their tune lol. But on a more serious note I think this may be rng related and that in some instances the cops are more hostile to you. I've noticed that when they are scan happy sometimes constantly hitting you with scans in quick succession they seem to want to get in your face. And other times(like just now) it's not nearly as frequent and they keep their distance when scanning. Just took out about 30 ships even had a few times when 8 or 9 cops including a conda were twisting all around me in very close proximity and was never struck or bumped into at all.

Ftr I really like this game and wouldn't have suffered through the fed rank grind if I didn't. If I came across as wanting to bash fdev to anyone that's not my intent and if I was too salty my bad. I just wish we didn't get bounties for such small things especially when npcs ram us. o7
