This is ridiculous and against Elite Dangerous law, to my knowledge.

Re-reading this thread, I'm guessing you are new. This one of the problems with new players being able to gain Elite so fast. They end up jumping in the deep end and have a bad experience because they simply haven't been flying long enough.

Doesnt really matter if hes new or not what he is saying is the truth most laws in ED dont matter to Independent pilots. We can do anything and the security could care less more then half the time.

Captain, that's avoiding the point I've been trying to make.

SD needs an upgrade, those who have been playing the game for years should not own SDez.

...
However in open one must be aware of the danger of murder attempts at all times. It's just the way it is.

I don't think this can be empasised enough. The times I've had a good connection day and gone into open (the actual possibility of losing a ship once in a while gets the blood moving) I've taken the view that I may be attacked and my ship destroyed. That's the only mindset you can have when you're dealing with something as unpredictable as other people.

Ships I take into open are engineered, heavily shielded with a good amount of armour. That won't always be enough but being 'open ready' is definitely a thing.

Besides, where else would I go if I wanted to PvP and not go noob killing?

Shinrarta is a lawful High Security system. Ganking is not "allowed" there. It is illegal. End of story. If you don't like the C&P in the game, that is a different story.

Feros, you're clearly an experienced player.

Now, are you gonna be teaching every noob how to play the game or, are you gonna allow them opportunities to develop on their own rather than leaving for another game because of the disappointment of SDez?

I can kind of understand what the OP is complaining about. It is like finally being admitted to some exclusive club, only to find out that one or two of the members spend all their time punching other members, stealing their wallets and peeing in the punch - and the worst thing is management knows about it but doesn't do anything. Not much of a club is it! ;)

It does matter, because with experience comes the ability to deal with these situations. If you fly long enough, you learn what the ship is capable of, the steps to escape, and further, how to build your ship to survive while not sacrificing the job at hand. This is why those of you who run Docking Computers and other stupid like shieldless or whatever in open get so much grief for those dumb choices. That 2D MRP just might possibly add the precious seconds needed to high wake some day. Just like submitting to the interdiction is so very important because it buys you more time to escape as the cool down on the FSD is significantly lower.

He's claiming that it's impossible to escape. It's not impossible, I have no problems escaping. I roll into Shinrarta every night assuming someone is waiting for me. I don't enter that system without a system on the ready, and a heat sink set on the firing group, 4 pips already to shields, 2 to eng. It's already there. The problem is, he's too green to know what builds and steps to take to escape these situations. As a green pilot, he could very well be flying in a straight line as he tries to high wake. He may be trying to go to the galaxy map to pick a system. It's unlikely he's doing any of the steps necessary to survive on top of having a poor build. Furthermore, despite the fact that these ganks happen frequently, we still see these threads weekly, there is still these posts of disbelief. "OMG, I can't believe I got attacked." We've been hearing these same cries for years. Instead of learning how to escape, win, and build their ship properly, they'd rather cry for nerfs, the removal of PVP or special safe zones.

LOL. I think I started in October 2018. September maybe? Certainly during 3.2. So I'm relatively new in real time, although less so in hours played.

I actually have taught noobs - docking, waking, even buying and using collector limpets. Sometimes I give players void opals on a whim, other times I blow them up.

However I don't fool myself into thinking other CMDRs' decisions will be based on my actions and I don't much care what they do.

In any case, it is you not me that must make a decision. I have already stated it, but once again.

You can improve or you can avoid dangerous systems in Open. Decide.

Considering the concern about the already limited players for pvp, I figured people would be more open to methods of welcoming noobs.

Btw gaining elite is still a grind, I have exploration and trade elite and none of that prepares you for tag teams in SDez. I'm tryin to help Frontier here, not whin about players who have an upper hand in PvP through engineering or the path they take in Elite.

Suggest and thou shall become an Elite reject. 😯 😁

Escaping is hard but it isnt impossible. Speed is key to escaping. If you are a Elite rank you should know how to control your pips but its another to actually have the time to engineer the ship.
