I generally avoid PvP but last night to spice things up a bit I thought I'd have a go at delivering a few tonnes of Aluminum to the CG at DS Leonis/Grandin Terminal and see what happened.
Having loaded up with 64/T Al, I set out in my PvE Engineered Krait II, having first swapped out my personaly trained NPC (whom I have trained from Harmless to Expert to safeguard time invested) for a 'temporary' Expert hire. On entering the system sure enough I got interdicted (fought and lost) by a commander, can't remember the name or what ship he was flying but I think it was another Krait II, launched my NPC fighter, and proceeded to defend myself, did quite well initially had him down to one low ring before he used a SCB and two of his mates turn up, I decided to use the 'Brave Sir Robin' manoever ...full power to sheilds and 2 pips in thrusters...saw me Low wake out (chosen over a High Wake by deliberate choice) and get my shields back up to strength before being chain interdicted and brave 'Sir Robbining' 3 more times IIRC before I fluffed it and ended up in Grandin via the re-buy. You used to get re-spawned at the last station you were docked at....re-spawning at the nearest is an improvement to my mind.
Any way went off and got some more Al, and tried again this time I even managed to beat one of the chain Interdictions before succumbing once again.
Having previously taken advantage of the recent mining updates my balance is still in a healthy state even after losing a total c.a. 20M in the two rebuys, the fact that I took precautions to safeguard my trainee NPC, and that I knew what I was letting myself in for, meant I had fun, albeit the experience could have been improved for me if some comms had been forthcomming both before or after the engagement. If your reading this guys perhaps you could consider if a commander beats an Interdiction letting them proceed ?.
Anyway if the guys involved read this and wouldn't mind pinging me their Gamer Tags by PM (sorry I'm new to this and in the heat of battle didn't get them noted, didn't get a 'You were killed by' notice and the Codex only says a commander)...I might be interested in trying to hunt you down for a re-engagement
