Powerplay Faction: Aisling Duval Lambda-1 Tucanae

Happens every week. This is why I'm happy to see powerplay being open only (despite my occasional connection issues). That'd be the first place the underminers would hit so people would actually have to spread the fortification round a bit. We can but hope.
Hrmmm. When did the open only go into effect? I've been running in solo and getting credit. I don't have enough materials, components, or credits to go into open with a freighter for enemy pc's to blow up and I don't have the right engineers yet to actively pvp, even against NPC's. More than 2 on my courier usually means death.
P.S. This problem could be solved easily. A fine or ban from getting power points for going over 100%.

Oops, missed a 'would' out of that statement. Definitely not open only at the moment. Something like zero credit for fortification over 100% would be a good idea (or 150% - someone may have just landed before you).
As for being in open, I know at least three control systems with minimal player traffic. If it ever did go open only (as has been called for by quite a few), you probably wouldn't know the difference in those systems anyway.
Also, I can definitely recommend pushing that Imperial rank for a Clipper for doing powerplay. A class 7 cargo slot makes things much easier than what you have in the Courier. Do keep the Courier though, it's a great little ship when engineered.
Thanks for the concern over Lambda-1 Tucanae. That system is unfortunately extremely over-fortified every cycle. People who fortify that system either don't know that what they're doing is unhelpful or they don't care about being helpful and just want quick merits. It's bad strategically for unprofitable systems close to Cubeo to be fortified, but there's no way to stop the massive number of people that grind merits on those systems, most of them doing it from private group or solo. But that's something we deal with and account for each cycle.
Currently the most pressing matter is the amount of merits that are dumped into preparing HIP 1572 each cycle. This system would bring direct harm to Aisling Duval should it be successfully prepared then successfully expanded. In order to stop that from happening we have to keep the consolidation vote at or above 75% on weeks we don't want to prepare a system. Should the consolidation vote fail on those weeks, then we have to prepare a blocker that's less harmful and/or easier to oppose in the expansion phase. When we actually have a system we want to prepare, we still have to dump hundreds of thousands of merits into the desired system to get it to the top of the prep list.
These wasteful/harmful merits are something we deal with each cycle, and we've become accustomed to it. We have enough dedicated haulers at this time to help us keep bad systems from getting prepared, but not all powers are that fortunate.

heh I get enough tickets with my type 7
240 per haul. My idea for temp ban/full ban is, 1 second per point over 100% on first delivery to specified planet, i.e. hip 1527 is at 1499 of 1500 and i deliver 240 so i get a 239 second ban from participation. This time should be added to the current wait time for picking up materials or programmes and can't be expedited with coin. A flag is set to my pilot, should i proceed to deliver more to hip 1527, time ban doubles. So 480 seconds on a 240 ticket delivery. 3rd time triple and a secondary flag is set. Once second flag is set, if you breach 110% of the capacity of any planet in the faction for the rest of the current cycle, you take a demotion in rank and standing for each delivery that puts you over. If you go below neutral you are terminated from the power and marked as kos in the faction for the duration of the current cycle. That should clean out the people who don't care about the powers and only about getting their 50 million per week.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading on Trello that "once everything is fortified, send extras to Lambda-1 Tucanae" (I could be wrong about that, so please don't take my word for it, but remember it - never done that myself).
There's a number of Fifth Columns (5C) out there working all kinds of mischief and apparently not just with AD's space. I checked on Saturday and it looks like at least 4 powers are in turmoil right now. As Cori explained in the AD update a few cycles back, the 5C's out there USED to do it blatantly in Open but since videos of them doing this have come out, they've all moved over to Solo with their bots. Not sure how to deal with something like that. The way they're causing so much crazy in so many systems right now, maybe they NEED to make it burn to get FD's attention on this problem. Or not.
The only other solution is that EVERYONE starts running bots which will at least even the playing field. No, I doubt that'll happen, but it's a crazy galaxy out there. BTW, I have no idea how to (1) do it, (2) script stuff - I just play. The problem is that I expect others to play fair.
BTW, I haven't seen Cori post anything in the "what to do this cycle" for a couple of weeks. Is she on vacation?
That is correct. It is a good grinder target because it's always fortified, no matter what we do, and adding more forts to it doesn't hurt. I've done it myself when I needed to get my merits up for rank 5.
I'm not sure. I don't talk to Cori much. But following the fortification objectives on the Trello is always helpful.

Well, that's probably why PP needs to be fixed. Really fixed. Open Only would be a good start, cross-platform certainly wouldn't hurt, either. If we're all in this environment of "Players of one Power pitted against Players of the Other Power" then we should at least all be on the same playing field. As it stands now, it's a patchwork quilt of PC, XBOX, PS4, and Open/Solo.
You certainly wouldn't play a football game with two thirds of your team in an alternate universe, would you?
I keep an eye on the Trello to see who's got what fortified as the week progresses. However, Cori usually gives us the weekly summary of what's going on, who did what, what we're trying to accomplish and WHY. It's like the sound of an engine you always hear on an airplane when you suddenly notice (at 30,000 feet) that one engine shut down. She's conspicuous by her absence.
You'd have to fight that out with Sony and Microsoft. It's their cross platform policies stopping the merger. ED Devs are just caught in the cross fire on that one, which is why I call for an AI fix. AI fix would normalize all platforms with penalties and benefits in PP. You defect? Ok well if you ever wanna come back, plan on a month long process to get back in our good grace. You wanna commit espionage and treason, we kick you out and you have to go through the same process to get back in. Remove the incentive and provide punishment and they will quit, or at least slow down dramatically. 1 week out of 4 of the month can they actually do something stupid.
Well, not Sony AND Microsoft - just Sony. They seem to be the sticking point.
