Modes Why I choose to play in Open instead of Solo.

1) NPCs are no challenege and generally any pilot of any skill level is still better than any NPC.

In short: you wont get better by playing against NPCS so that shiny "Elite" rank you got for farming them? Worthless. My granny could beat an npc.

And shes dead.

2)
Despite what the hyporbolic posts lead you to believe: open is generally full of decent players. if you want to fly a hauler with no shields at a CG - frankly..you belong in solo.

3) Even if im trading and not doing combat specific stuff..if there is no real element of danger i get SUPER BORED. Yes..i welcome the gankers. Try gank me. Its part of the game.If i get away i feel awesome. If i dont, i feel angry. But the important thing is i FEEL SOMETHING. I feel NOTHING in solo. ( Except bored and irrelevant. )

Thats all really. Thats my opinion.

It will be interesting to see if im allowed to have it.

I agree NPCs are not much of a challenge but I still use them for practice. Such as building that muscle memory for FAoff maneuvers. And testing weapon loadout combinations. I dont want the first time I test a new ship and/or engineered weps to be vs pro gankers. Even so, I still do all that in open and not solo so i'm not even sure what my point is with this response haha.

I hope you posted the exact same image in the thread that this one is a counter to.

( its the one about why they play in solo instead of open.just in case you missed it... :) )

You can have any opinion you like.
It doesn't mean your points are correct though.

1) Frontier has stated repeatedly, NPCs are set to an "average" difficulty level - which means there are players who are worse than NPCs.
2) This is a hyperbolic troll thread, so it belongs with the ones you're talking about.
3) Just because you're bored playing that way, doesn't mean we all are. I quite enjoy the peace frankly.

Oh and heres the link to that thread just to save you some hassle. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ow-play-solo-or-private?p=7462576#post7462576

Hope you have that image ready. Ill be checking!

Have a good one!

As I said above, this is just a troll thread then?

Those are fantastic reasons to play in open. I respect those reasons. I usually play in open for the same reasons. On rare occasion I'm not in the mood and play in a private group. One of the my best memories was returning from Colonia in open. Jumping back to the first inhabited system, I felt the excitement of returning home and the possibility of a interdiction. But tired and drowsy after a long journey to the new station in Sag A, I switched to Fleetcomm private group, uninterested in dealing with a ganker.

...and I don't particularly care if anyone else approves of my play style.

Have you seen the NPCs?

I actually think she really could.

Try this. Tape the fingers on your hands together. Put on sunglasses, smear a little vaseline on your glasses.

Do your best. There are players of this game that suffer with arthritis and have vision issues. Feel free to denegrate them and their inability to kill npcs.

Have you tried Soloing the Basilisk, Medusa, and Hydra Thargoid Interceptors? They may have a repetitive mechanic, but they do not allow that much margin for error.

I always play in Open when I do AX CZs so as to wing up with other humans to join forces. Otherwise, I play in Solo because getting interdicted, submitting and waking is just boring. If I want to PvP I play CQC because it's not as ship/ship loadout dependent.

In a month or so's time, I'm going to be flying as RIO for a 64 year old gaming buddy in the DCS F-14 expansion.

Never hear him or other 'old hands' that I play with from time to time moaning when things are set at too hard a difficulty for them to guarantee 100% victory rate in a computer game.
