Request for Frontier re: 2020 Update!

Frontier (and in particular Mr Braben)

I've been a fan of Elite since I bought that expensive but gorgeous black Acornsoft box in 1984.

but I have one request regarding the 2020 update.

please, Please PLEASE consider putting Elite Dangerous to one side and giving all us long long time loyal Elite fans the game we crave, the game we waited decades for.

Elite IV (offline, single player only)

Once you release Elite IV, you can go back to ED if you so wish.
Thank you

a long long time Elite (but not Elite Dangerous) fan.

Who's this we you speak of? :p

It's the royal we. Learn some English! 'We' isn't all encompassing, it can point to a small group of like minded players, that's probably the 'we' he was referring to - and we agree, give us Elite: First Encounters 2... With Newtonian flight (along with the easy mode), time compression for the vast distances, all the planets to land on, aerobraking, gravity sling shots, moddability... an actual Space Sim.

Actual gameplay vs grinding gameplay loops to keep players ingame and buying crap from the store.

I weep for what this game could have been (and Brabens original vision)!

Yeah, now I've seen the advantages of being in a shared living world I wouldn't want a dead lonely version if they offered it.

I've tried the completely dead macOS version (quite a frustrating experience really) and I suspect the offline version would be superior, merely because I could still journey across the galaxy when the mood took me.

No please, just update us on what they are doing. Let them finish let's not divert their resources into something else, which you already sort of have.

Offline completely will not work.

This "we" likes it just the way it is, I speak for the individual "we" of course, there are probably more of us individual "we's" than any other group!

Oh yes, I would like an offline game mainly for the mods.

We can't have mods in Elite because everything is shared among all the players.
A local version of the software would allow mods developed my thousands of people all around the world that would allow to:

- build our own planetary base
- have new ships
- have new SRV's
- customize our ships with our own paintkit
- customize the ship interiors texture
- new hud styles
- handcrafted elements: colliding planets, big cities on planets, explosion of Supernovae

Example:
MS Flight Simulator was a terrible flight simulation game, but it became great because of the thousand of mods and add-ons that players and professional developers developed (freeware and payware).

Is that 'we' the Popular Front of Judea?

You could still do that using bootcamp.
