Scytale, I agree with you, and personally that's what I do now if I am exploring or engaging in activities in which I do not wish to be distracted by aggressive attention-seeking children.

I do feel for newer players who don't fully understand ED's modes system however. I feel for any player who has their game play wrecked by selfish/self-indulgent individuals. And I guess to be completely honest I resent being dictated to by bullies who lack empathy and honor, who claim Open as their private kingdom, and offer nonsense as their justification. But their day of reckoning will come. 07 CMDR.

I like open play. I want to be in open play but, SD is supposed to be a safe haven for Elites (according to elite law, to my knowledge), it's bad enough that no Imperial mission givers are in JM.
On top of this getting tag teamed by pvp'ers is a total put off for non PvP'ers and noobs to pvp especially when, in some cases, it is impossible to evade interdictions or, you're interdicted one after another with no way to escape.

I'm gonna have to go solo unfortunately and switching from solo to open every time just ain't gonna happen. I heard open players complain that there isn't enough people in open play, if you change SD pvp I'm sure you'll see a difference.

Just a disgruntled suggestion, from a player that hasn't got the contacts to counter two pvp'ers (This happens a lot) let alone the engineering levels to compete in PvP 1v1. 

It's my understanding that SD is for Elite ranked pilots. If you are getting wrecked so easily perhaps you should steer clear until you deserve to really enter the system. :)

There is a reason why it's called Founders World ;)

I agree with the general statement that if it must happen anywhere the visitors to Founders are probably the best equipped to deal with it.

My most recent account has 27 hours played, is in a Cutter, over a billion in credits and is Elite. A year to get access.. Lols..

You're taking this game thing in the wrong direction. It's more about how you tend to play with other people than what game you play.

Sorry, but if someone enjoys ruining other people fun and takes pleasure in ing them off, then I'd say that yes, "games are representative of peoples IRL motivations and actions". And I can easily have an opinion about a person after interacting with them in game. I would not say that a ganker is a bloodthirsty maniac in RL, but rather a selfish pr*ck. And it will show in other areas of RL as well, I have no doubt.
And I'm not saying that PvP in game like Elite should be forbidden (even if nonconsensual sometimes), but how you approach that subject is what matters.

Weird. In my experience the most ruthless, cunning, and dangerous Commanders in Elite are out of game some of the most kind, loving, and patient people you’ll ever meet.

It depends how you play the game and when you played it . Go back to 1.0 and refuse to do any obviously cheesy or broken mechanics and try getting to elite in 27 hrs with a billion credits (if you HAD managed this you would have won..... £10,000 (real cash) wasn't it???

I COULD log in tonight and be double elite by tomorrow. I don't because so far I have not done the gold rushes to do this in the hope the the elite rankings got tweakes. That is not looking likely so I guess I have to accept now the elite rankings are officially wrecked.

This is not a discussion about lore it's just another "gankas baaad outlaw gankas" thread.

Also you're doing the exact thing I mention, acting as if your game of pretend was more valid than mine. Zarek launched DG2 and Harry killed Salome, oof.

"My game of pretend" isn't my game at all. I am just trying to follow the lore built up from the Devs. They make is hard tho as they do not follow through with their own guidelines . You play however you want but I will always push back where I feel the Devs do not follow the story they themselves set in motion.
I really could not care less about how you play the game. Fill your boots :). But FD spun a pretty cool back story with elite, I wish they would follow through with it
