It already is if you dont mind Russian Subs, caughing, chatting, people standing in front of the image as they go to the bathroom and the chewing of confectionery.

The only "theater recordings" I like are epic moments that I miss from watching at home, like when an entire theater explodes in cheering when Thor arrives in Wakanda during Infinity War.

I hate visiting the Cinema for all the reason i listed above and more, pirating that behavior and inviting that experiance into my home seems silly to me.
But im British..... Shhhhhhhhhhhh in the cinema please.

Oh I'm the same way - I watched Infinity War on BluRay from the comfort (and quiet) of my own home, twice, before I looked at these very short clips of audience reactions online. Unfortunately I was unable to avoid the spoilers between the theater release and the BluRay release.. Endgame will be the first movie I've seen in theater in years for this reason.

I'm not one to believe in conspiracy theories, and I usually just shrug them off.

But after what happened with the Rotten tomatoes website, I'm starting to wander if there is not something really rotten in the kingdom of the big mouse.

Many talk about this, I ignored 90% of the videos made by people that seemed more keen in surfing on the hate wave than anything else. Then I stumbled on this video.

Now before someone's ask, yes I saw his channel and yes he seems to be just another angry nerd that seems to be "very angry" at disney for what they did to star wars. ( and yes I'm also VERY angry BTW, so maybe I'm biassed.)

But the thing that really hooked me to the video was the fact that he seem to show several instances form different sources. Granted, some of the pictures smell fake form a mile away, but others not so much. And for a movie that supposedly broke records, it looks nothing but odd to me. :/

At this point I would really not be surprised if it turns out to not be true, but if it is.....

It stinks.

It made 86 million in China on its opening, compared to Avengers: Infinity Wars opening of 191 million dollars, that's not a real success. The Captain Marvel opening in China is just place 27th in their all time openings list and over here in Germany the movie didn't even make it into the top 100 of all time openings (it sits at place 111). Even in the US Captain Marvel opened only at place 26th of all time openings. He really could have a point it seems.

Even a low-end $720 million outcome would still indicate what we all pretty much knew after opening weekend but waited til now to confirm -- Captain Marvel will likely top $1 billion at the worldwide box office by the end of its run.

So, the billion is the lowball estimate.

Cost to produce = $175 million.
Profit: $1000 million- $175 million = $825 million

Saw it. Felt indifferent to it. The industry isn't especially interested in how we feel, as long as we keep buying. And at this point the pop culture wave for anything Marvel is inexorable. It's easily the most lucrative property owned by Disney, and its the engine keeping cinema alive.

The secret to a conspiracy oddly enough is keeping it secret. Openly banging on about review bombing the film on rotten tomatoes pre-release means I just assume the angry man-children are lying about this too. A photo of an empty theatre means nothing when posted by the same people.

The whole culture war thing is getting really old, I'm a sci-fi/superhero film fan and the extremists are making it into a pastime I'm ashamed of by association with the crazies. Gaming is becoming similar TBH.

Edit : I just checked booking times and available seats where I live, you'll struggle to get a seat at any weekend or evening showing. This is all just more lying.

As long as they have learned from the Stallone Judge Dredd disaster. Urban's Dredd was far better

Of course (with a more accurate City Urbans would have been even better...Lena Headey tho mmmmmm), although Stallone's Dredd had one small good bit....Hammerstein.....hmmm ABC Warroirs film anyone? oh and Nemesis the Warlock. :)

I suppose all the pictures with empty seats while the movie is on the screen ... they're lying as well?
You keep believing what ever you want, but keep an open mind to both sides, not just the side you agree with.

I like going to the cinema midweek afternoons when its practically deserted no matter what the film is and the kids are all in school. Take a photo then and claim nobodies interested.

Check tonight's and this weekends availability wherever you live to see a true picture of interest at a popular time for visiting the cinema when most people are available. I've already done that and its why I know they are lying.

So why would I keep an open mind when I've personally checked and disproved their claim ?.

I get they don't like girls the only real question left is why, I suspect that its a mutual thing.

Ok, before I reply, I'm not taking sides, just commenting on your post and how it's worded and how it comes across.

1) The point the people taking the photos were trying to make wasn't "oh look there's no kids" it was "This movie was supposed to be sold out, but there's no-one here". Many have taken photos and claimed this is the case from many cinemas (this includes staff) at different times of the day. I personally don't know if they are telling the truth or if they are lying, but as I haven't visited every cinema in the world, I don't know how much truth there is in these claims and neither do you.

2) I haven't checked the seat availability for every showing in every cinema in the world ... neither have you. I'm not even going to check my local cinema ... I don't care.

3) It isn't "I hate girls/women in movies or being the lead in the movie" You made that claim because you're not keeping an open mind to all sides, and are only focused on the side you agree with. If you'd kept an open mind, you'd admit this controversy has come about because Brie Larsen was trying to make a statement about wanting more diversity in film critics, and worded her speech badly with (and I quote) "I don't want to know from a forty year old white dude what didn't work for him about a Wrinkle In Time, it wasn't made for him". This set off a group of Youtubers. both men and women, to criticise Brie for being sexist and racist (I'm not saying she was, just that that's what happened), and thus the SJW's came out and criticised them to defend Brie.

Your posts came across as though you have a blinkered point of view and are taking the side of the SJW's, which you are free to do. All I'm suggesting is that you keep an open mind to both sides, because it seems to me, that you're not.

But anyway, I'm sure you enjoyed Captain Marvel (I take it you've seen it?) and that's OK.
Peace.

Have to agree with you there, it's a continuation of the anti-Rey thing and has been going on since long before the movie opened. QED it's got little or nothing to do with the actual film.

I'm looking forward to End Game now (saw Cpt Marvel, liked it). So picture this ... Pepper Potts jumps in the Mark 39 (or whatever suit it is) rescues Tony Stark, saves the day and HOW the "wamen" salt doth flow! lol

Do not forget that these are the number the movie makes, it's not the number the studio makes, these numbers are before the cinemas get its cut and taxes and so on and so forth.
Also worth mentioning that out of 21 Marvel movies only 6 made it above a 1 million and more (you have to scroll down a little bit to get to the numbers). That's only the numbers the movies made during their cinematic run, it does not include CD/BluRay sales and so on.
If Captain Marvel also makes a billion worldwide remains to be seen.

Also worth mentioning something I hadn't picked up on .. the production costs don't include marketing, which they reckon can be anything up to 2.5 times the actual production, and some rumours for CM put it higher. Still, it's a lot of moolah.

There's one potentially valid equality criticism I've seen, in that Marvel didn't choose Monica Rambeau (Photon) to become Captain Marvel, ahead of Carol Danvers. Who precedes who in the comics though, I'm not 100%.
