Consider me properly chastised.
For future reference its the one without the Klingons.
Don't know that this movie merits so much discussion. It's about as memorable as a bag of average French Fries.
To wit: saw a YouTube clip about the destruction of the Enterprises on film. Had zero recollection that Chris Pine's Enterprise got destroyed, because the whole Kelvin Timeline just isn't memorable. Think anybody is going to be talking about Captain Marvel the movie as they do about Aliens, or Kill Bill? Nope.
Any significant social shift won't come about from forgettable movies. They just pass from the gestalt consciousness. Avatar was a huge staggeringly big moneymaker, but has almost no footprint in pop culture. Can't remember a single line myself, contrast that to efforts to do sequels to Aliens or Blade Runner, because those originals carried weight.

I feel it's the MCU that's more transcendent here. The effect of the internet and all that entails too, as when Alien and Kill Bill released, fans might get together and discuss liking it (positive) but people who weren't particularly interested wouldn't engage in an activism, to inform the world just how much they hate it. This means cinema is ever less inclined to take a risk. However Marvel do take, I'd say, measured risks and I think has been the secret. I don't think you can find any MCU movie that takes any serious risks and yet they do seem - to date - to have found an enduring freshness. I find them very funny to watch, enjoying that as much as any spectacle and they hit enough emotional notes to give 'enough' weight to have found an $18 BILLION dollar box office from 21 movies. That's a serious, serious average unlike anything that's ever happened before. The quality of each movie might not be so high but the quality of the world they've built much higher (imo).

Well since you went and did the effort to check your cinema seats, so did I.
Here is the map of seat availability in the biggest cinema in city center.
Note, here in France most cinemas don't do seat reservation. In here is first arrived, first served.
The cinema I mention is the only cinema that allows you to reserve a seat. ( even tho no one really respects it. )
But it is the biggest cinema in town since they finished the expansion and renew works.
Just for info, I picked the time at which people go to the cinema the most, which is 19h45 local time. (Paris)
The orange seats are the seats available, only 4 have been sold for tomorrow's session.
Usually at this point and for that time, its already half full. ( or half empty

Huh, Very interesting. I just went onto our local theater's website and tried to reserve seats in the biggest, swankiest showing of Marvel for tonight and it is almost completely empty. Only 5 reservations for the 3D XD showing. Tomorrow's showings are basically the same: hardly any reservations.

Are you seriously trying to sell us the whole Leia retcon Disney is trying to do ?
Just for info, Episode 4. Leia is captured, and only escaped ( or was set loose ) BEACAUSE Luke and Han tried to rescue her. Yes their plan was not much of a plan, and in the end we found out that the empire used them to locate the rebel base. Nevertheless, without Luke's reckless intervention, she would have been waiting in that cell for still quite a while.
Episode 5, If it wasn't for Luke yet again that decided to cut short his training in order to HELP HIS FRIENDS, LANDO's and NOT Leia's plan to escape would have never succeed. Yes it was again reckless from Luke, and not much of a plan. And he paid his mistake by loosing a hand. It doesn't change the fact that without it. They would have remained Vader's prisoners until he showed up !
Episode VI, LEIA's plan to save Han all by herself failed miserably, by getting herself captured and freeing Han from the Carbonite but unable to escape, and thus making him vulnerable. And it was LUKE's plan, who guess what, learned form his mistakes and this time made a sound plan for a change, that allowed to rescue Han AND Leia.
If you are really trying to sell us the whole "Leia saved the whole galaxy by herself and with a hand tied in the back because of those stupid males", sorry but that is not going to fly for me.

I had another look, they are now sold out tonight and all of tomorrow unless me and the Mrs sit separately in the last two seats where I am. So I think it may be down to people not booking in Paris as you described.
Nope I'm just pointing out the really really obvious sources for her having Jedi powers in the earlier films and saving the boys a lot. She's also the best shot with a blaster in the deathstar shootouts.

2 things, I don't live in Paris, I mentioned Paris because that is the time frame we use in France. (Duh ?)
Second, While its true that in France most cinemas don't allow to reserve seats, it doesn't mean that if possible, people don't do it.
They do, if anything just to be sure they got a seat at all. And as I said, usually at this point in the week, for a saturday session, in the time frame where people usually rush to the cinemas, a hall this empty is anything but good news for the movie long term gain.
Just for info, Toulouse might not be Paris, but it IS a big town, and there is a lot of people.
Oh, she is force sensitive alright, always was. After all she is a Skywalker. Thing is, to use the force, you must first be trained. And when I say trained, I mean REALLY trained. Some Jedi's spent their WHOLE LIFE learning to master the force. Luke HIMSLELF, even when trained under YODA's, didn't mastered his powers until the third movie in which he appears. And between episode 5 and 6. a lot of time seems to have passed.
You are telling me that Leia, much like Rei, without ANY training whatsoever perfectly mastered the force ? Just like that ? Like turning a switch on ? Why ? Girl power I guess ?
Sorry but that is not a valid argument to defend the whole "Leia Poppins". It's just bad story telling, period.

Rey didn't spend her whole life training and she kicked Kylo Rens butt even though he was trained up by a Skywalker. Talking of Skywalker he shifted a lightsaber before even going to visit Yoda. Then you've got that kid who moves the broom at the end of the Last Jedi.
Jedi have inherent abilities due to the midiclorians. All totally canon.
Why must you though? Isn't that saying the Force belongs only to the Jedi? ("Arrogance" Luke Skywalker, TLJ)
I won't be distracted from my girl Brie ... but I can definitely dig Rey being a force of nature, and Leia too; Let go, reached out with her feelings .. and why not. Or on your knees Kylo; Rey+Force was epic (TFA), I bet she's never as powerful again and I had a tear in my eye right there.

All I will say about Brie Larsen and Disney is this:
I find it comforting in this age of steel, high-impact plastics and ceramics that Disney still can find room to employ a wooden actress.
