Update 3.3.1

If you're waiting for ED to not be riddled with bugs, i suggest you give up. The game is nearly 5 years old and basic mission bugs are still rife. FDev have 2 other franchises that will take priority. Accept ED for what it is or move on. You'll just rue the time spent waiting for something that's never going to happen.

I don't expect any game to be bug free, but it sure would be nice if the more major bugs would be fixed. To your point, I have basically given up on Frontier fixing certain things broken on PS4 (as have many of my friends), because it seems apparent that our platform was only a cash-grab that no longer gets the attention it had during the initial launch. Just visit our subforum and compare it now with two years ago. Yet I keep hoping that somebody at Frontier still cares about the work they invested into all these features old and new, and that they have enough pride in their work to want to fix these bugs. Then again, management and money-counters often are to blame for the final state of a product. Example - On the Edge: The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore

To your point, I have "moved on" when it comes to many of the things I used to do in ED, things that were once enjoyable but were later broken and have remained so ever since. I still have one very niche trail that I'm blazing that allows me to sidestep some of these bugs, but I doubt this will keep me going for another 18 months.

The advantage is jumping 700ly. Anni only goes what? 250ly tops even with neutron boost. Ban them cause its cheating. Somebody uses that and gets somewhere before the next guy then they gained an advantage. You think this kind of thing couldnt be done using other means? I havent bothered to read the TOS :) but if its written like all the rest of them it will say that exploiting bugs is bannable.
How is jumping 700 ly an advantage?Max range is one of the targets we all set ourselves, surely.Dude has put a lot of time and effort into understanding and applying game mechanics to do one thing.Jump as far as possible.Cant do anything when he gets there, every useless kilo will impede progress.A to B furthest is the goal, not what happens when he arrives.

As a player who enjoys exploring: Simple answer - there were people baffled because suddenly a so long unreachable star cluster (forgot which) was suddenly explored partially, all with first discoveries. The star cluster is actually reachable, but only with a neutron star jump. And in the star cluster there are no neutron stars, therefore it is a one way journey. One could do this, but he'll never return with his ship. And this means no first discoveries since they count if you sell them, not if you make them. If you would jump to this star cluster, you could look around for months, but at the end it would be self destruct. They checked, there is no way back, including ships with best jump range and synthesis. Without neutron boost it won't work. But with the cheat it will work - and there you have your answer...

I'm on PS4 as well (although started on PC). As an example, I spent a lot of time building an ax Krait mk2. There is a known canopy bug that has been fixed and reintroduced twice. It makes the ship unusable against interceptors. All the time spent building that ship is wasted and i have no faith that, were it fixed a 3rd time, it won't be reintroduced with another update. To me, that's just really poor. At some point, you just have to accept that, for whatever reason, FDev can't properly support this game.

I count three points when I'll accept this - when Rebel Galaxy Outlaws is released (soon!), when The Outer Worlds is released, and when Cyberpunk 2077 is released :D

Still, ED is unique even amongst these games, so it sure would be nice if Frontier would properly support the game....

What dude is doing then after such a mega jump is totally irrelevant. It's a slap in the face to literally everyone who went through all the grind of engineering their FSD, just to be threefoldly topped by a cheap exploit. What's so hard to understand here or to whitewash by mindless semantics?
In other words: What are you talking about?
The reference to a cheap exploit has me stumped. I'm struggling to see the springs on his feet.(or the scale of the achievement, tbh, but it is what it is.).
Thanks to moonracer for giving a bit more context to this vexed subject.

So... its actually been used and they are aware of it. The best thing FD could do at the first oppurtunity is to address this and show that they banned people that exploited it, like they hinted they would. As if exploration hasnt been beaten half to death already :(

I wonder how long this has been in game? Honestly we dont even know which update introduced it do we? Oh dear ED... oh dear.

We're halfway through March, and we've yet to get a proper bug fix patch for the 3.3 update that went live LAST YEAR. We've had a couple very minor point updates to deal with a very small fraction of the bugs (ironically some being seen as 'features' by many, like the 500+ LY jump range), but not a proper 3.3.1 bug fix patch. Considering both the number and severity of the bugs in 3.3, I find this both surprising and very disheartening. This time last year we already had our third major bug fix patch (3.0.3), with 3.0.4 being released just over a week later.

I personally don't mind waiting until late 2020 for new content, but please Frontier, don't neglect to fix your current game in the meantime.... Otherwise you'll start losing even your loyal fans.

Yep after the last HGE nerf there were a bit more bugs than usual :D

However;

The old DSS, is no more, alas, its been replaced entirely by new fangled thingy that requires more skill, involving launching probes at, rather than simply flying towards the object of your scanning desires.

ADS, DSS, FSS - all off-topic (except for the bugs in the FSS). The real three-letter acronym we should all be talking about is:

EBL

Yes, it's going to be quite fun for some in ED-2020 when you get to go big game hunting on the safari worlds and zap off EBLs, a precious rare picobug fixated commodity!

Well I just found and reported three more bugs, one minor and two that interfere with gameplay. I'm sure they've been there all along, but I've been out exploring, not running missions and passengers, until today (I need to ally with a certain faction).

Anyone who would like to refute my claims, man up and do it in the official PS4 bug report section (which some here seem to believe is all "fake news"), if you dare :p
