Reinstalling on New Machine

So I have a new laptop that I want to install ED on to. I went to my Frontier Account page I'm under the "My Downloadable Products" area and I see the download for the game which is titled, "Elite Dangerous - Mercenary Edition - Download" but I also see a download for my lifetime pass, "Elite Dangerous: Lifetime Expansion Pass". Do I need to download that lifetime pass and install it after the Mercenary Edition game download/install or will the lifetime pass be applied automatically when I log on to the ED launcher or is that Lifetime Expansion Pass download the only one I need and it will be my launcher when installed????

Any old launcher will do. The games available to install is determined by your account once you have logged in the launcher.

I was thinking that as well but noticed that the launcher download via Mercenary Edition is 144mb while the launcher download via Lifetime Expansion is just 44mb. Why the difference if they are both just launcher downloads?

What you'll probably also find is that whichever one you download and install, as soon as you run it you'll be forced to update it again. Any of them should work.

To download the launcher for Elite Dangerous please click http://hosting.zaonce.net/elite/Client-Installer-DX11.exe

You can cut down your download time. If you go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\ Then copy elite-dangerous-64 to a flash drive and move it to your laptop. Then install the installer.

Not sure if this will work on Steam Power.
