No its not. It happens in anarchy states usually if im not mistaken.
It would be hilarious if the station got attacked by Thargoids.
I may have accidentally saved the station.
It's now an anarchy system, and I'm an anarchist so I've been shooting most things that drop out of SC. One of the ships turned out to be a Children of Tothos Eagle. That's the only one I've seen.
[EDIT] - Ok, just had a CoT Viper as well so probably not a unique event.

System's not Anarchy... just the jurisdiction around Archambault Station, since it's now owned by the Children of Tothos. Rest of it is still the original system owners
Well, you were quite optimistic if you thought those would start already. They'll be able to "talk a bit more about it" next month, I guess that means we'll have to wait even longer for them to start.

I was hoping to visit a debris field instead of a station today, but unfortunately galnet is just fluff with no relevance to the game universe which remains static at all times.
Fdev really need to commit to some long drawn out plots
