BTW the great writer George RRM, like the movie, that doesn’t make it better just another opinion.
One of the reasons I don’t like it, is that they killed the original character, just to replace it with a woman, I mean can’t they make a original character where it’s a woman without butchering a original character? Why must we have femal ghostbusters, cap. Marvel, and so on? Why is it so urgent to replace them instead of creating new ones?

I don't know if Mar-Vell was ever a very iconic character with tons of stories, in fact he wasn't really. What they got by switching though was I think a believable shorthand reason why Project Pegasus was the only place where women were allowed to combat pilot.
Not allowed in the Air Force at the time (1990's) if a male Larson had come out and said he wanted it for the project, is that a tiny bit weird? Talk about a harem! There's probably a band of sisters element to it too but a handing of the Mar-Vell torch, via Pegasus, without exposition helps flow I think.

As I already pointed out, you're the one who's promoting an "agenda" when you repeat the nonsense about "review-bombing" etc.
Nobody "review-bombed" CM.
There is no facility on Rotten Tomatoes to submit a review prior to a movie's release and there never has been.
There was a system that allowed people to comment on whether they're interested in seeing a movie or not.
That's what RT removed when a lot of people indicated no interest in CM.
When you repeat stories that dishonestly suggest that people were "review-bombing" CM, you are promoting an "agenda" - whether you realise it or not.

Incidentally, since CM was released, RT has also been removing bad reviews and accepting copypasta positive reviews of CM.

Seems a bit dubious that RT is removing apparently legitimate negative reviews while, at the same time, continuing to accept blatant copypasta positive reviews.

You know the one about Disney are secretly buying up tickets to inflate sales as an attempt to explain away actual viewing figures, which disproved the whole nobodies watching it claim. Well there was a showing this morning with only a few seats pre booked, so Disney missed that one disproving that conspiracy. Yet this evening is already packed out. You've also got the Disney gave free tickets away to girls only one, but that's not even worth rebutting its so pathetic.
RT removed the bad reviews posted prior to the movie even being released, and rightly so.

What my esteemed colleague intimated. Final warning.
I want to like these genres more, I just wish they were typically better done; superhero movies aren't so much garbage as they are bland and very homogeneous with repetition. I'd probably go easier on them if they weren't taking over the movie industry with the "Twilight effect," essentially crushing all other ideas until there is no room left in the market or incentive for creativity. I grew up on sci-fi, both in the movies and in literature, and it pains me to see how it's so often treated in Hollywood. I was honestly stunned that Bladerunner turned out as good as it did, and am now hopeful that the new Dune will turn out to be something special.
Anyone who goes to Cineworld Enfield already knows this. The journey there can be just as eventful.

We live in the excruciatingly politicized era of the Metoo movement, and a consequence of this is that it's not enough to show a strong female character (we've had those for years), but men need to be given their comeuppance as well. Time for some payback fellas.
Think back to the seventies when we had the Wonder Woman TV serial and the first spider man films. Things have definitely got better and not just on the special effects front. Except fantastic four films they always suck, its some sort of law of physics.
Blade runner 2049 is a fantastic film, I even managed to avoid all spoilers. Really enjoyed it made Mrs Stigbob watch the first one before she was allowed to see it.

I think what we're seeing there is the effect of graphics improvements on story. Sit and watch the end credits, and it's an absolute army of CGX supervisors, artists and animators and so on, tons of them. They all want paying presumably so your margins are cut, the last thing you need - when your movie has the budget of a small country - is a flop, so you play relatively safe. I don't think you can go back either very easily because the practical effects of the past just don't cut it when you've been spoiled by seeing really great effects. But what might (might) happen is the costs of CGI falling. If that happens then maybe we can get more art-house in the genre again.
Personally I think it's not a terrible trade off, with these being event 'movies' (not films) and Marvel themselves aren't overdoing it with 2 / 3 releases per year. Especially the way Marvel does it .. each (relatively bland) movie being a small chapter in the overall (rich) palette of the MCU Universe. Most of them do break 'some' ground (Guardians of the Galaxy for instance really hit the mark with bringing pop-culture into sci-fi .. and the effect of that was to save Thor, in Ragnarok) but as long as the movie has some freshness personally I can more than forgive it if not all of them are 2001 A Space Odyssey. Films like that were a rarity, even back in the day I think.

Those ads are probably a sign of things to come, the relationship he had with the apartment interface was probably the most thought provoking part.
