Mega Ship Name: GRIM EXPLORER
System: STUEMEAE BA-A D955

Grim Pioneer is not the new megaship resulting from the second CG - it's a detention centre added a week before the second CG started to prevent fast-travel exploits/accidents.

This is not the Megaship you are looking for. *waves hand*

Also Explorer's Anchorage was there and fully operational before the CG.
How do you know that is not the new mega ship? Do you have any reference?

Reference 1: it was there a week before the CG started. The CG text referred to a megaship "to be constructed", as did the CG completion announcement. That can't refer to something which was already there, or it would say "has been constructed".

Reference 2: the CG text said "The exploration fleet aims to build a megaship and installation in the Stuemeae FG-Y d7561 system.". Grim Pioneer is not in that system.

This isn't the new megaship from the CG of DW2.

The Grim Pioneer is a prison ship, located in another system a few lys away from the new station.

Spoiler - you are wrong. [haha]

That is the prison added before the CG.

The new mega ship will be a science vessel, not a prison.

(Don't you just love it when people make themselves look daft by posting insulting / superior threads but turn out completely wrong. Schadenfreude )

I honestly have no idea what's going on in DW2 but are we saying that if you're a law-abiding pilot and you get exploded then you'll respawn a gazillion Ly away whereas if you're an outlaw and you get sent to prison, a prison-ship has been placed conveniently near Sag A so you won't have far to travel back to the scene of your next crime?

Cos, that seems a bit "lopsided". [where is it]

Or, is FDev also bunging legit' megaships in to provide spawn-points for law-abiding players on DW2 as well?

so the prison exploit fast travel is now active in game
No - the prison ship *prevents* fast travel, by ensuring that the nearest prison ship to Explorer's Anchorage is closer than Colonia. If it wasn't there, you'd be able to go from EA to Odin's Crag instantly.

It can't be used for fast travel *to* Sag A* as Explorer's Anchorage is the only inhabited system closer to Grim Pioneer than to any other detention centre.

Something to watch if any systems get added later on the Colonia-Sag A* route, and aren't given their own detention centre, but not possible right now.

If you're destroyed in the Explorers' Anchorage system:
- if you're clean, you respawn at Explorers' Anchorage
- if you're wanted, you respawn at Grim Pioneer

If you're destroyed in deep space later on on DW2:
- if you're clean in the EA system and most recently docked at EA, you'll respawn there.
- if you're wanted in the EA system and most recently docked at EA, you'll respawn at Grim Pioneer
- if you most recently docked at Grim Pioneer, you'll respawn there regardless of legal status
- if you last docked somewhere other than the Sag A* region, you'll either respawn at the last docked station, or if you were wanted there, at the nearest detention centre to your last docked station (which won't at this stage be Grim Pioneer)

There is a benefit to wanted players from Grim Pioneer in that they respawn there rather than at Odin's Crag ... conversely, this is a disadvantage to people wanting to travel quickly from Sag A* to Colonia, because they can't just take the prison taxi.

Plain English and understandable +1
