Generalizations expose your ignorance. Don;t like it when PvPers get pigeon holed? Stop doing it to PvEers. I know it's hard being so superior, but give it a go.
Have some rep. +1.

Agreed. Dark Souls (and now Sekiro) are the polar opposite of Elite when it comes to mechanics and needing to develop and refine a skillset in order to progress.
Most PvE Elite players would quit after dying a few times to Asylum Demon or Baby Gundyr. Then probably get laughed at when they went crying to forums or reddit or whatever complaining the game is too hard.
What in the world is an N-1 Commander?
I think Feros is indicating a subset of cmdrs. N-1 (in coder speak) is the total number of a subset. If you use N by itself the app generates a runtime error, ergo, N-1. Perfectly logical if you've ever coded a loop using a subset of objects.

You're 100% correct but I was actually just quoting the poster above me (LanceLord) who indicated the preferential treatment of an individual pilot within the total pilot population (of size N) would encourage the other pilots (a population of size N-1) to quit due to lack of consequences. Normally I avoid jargon unless I feel it's required or already in play and this is certainly coding/discrete math jargon.
Another way to phrase it would be, "if bad ganka man can gets the freebies why should anyone else play since nothing matters?!?!"
In any case, I don't actually agree with that notion. If people wanted consequences then DG2 would be a celebrated bunch of heroes among all circles... instead of just among the circles I run in ;-)
It's nice when you can fit a bit of self-aggrandizement in.
The fix for these problems is to just accept that others play differently to you, and let that be ok.

It's nice to have a sense of humor and recognize hyperbole when it's used.
Anyway I'll just reply with the wise words of a truly enlightened poster.
What a strange comment - you are, by your comment, that there are other games available... do you honestly think PvE gamers in elite only play that one game... how sad![]()
She's mostly implying the pilots who can't escape a casual gank wouldn't last very long in dark souls. The use of "Most PvE players" might have been a bit of a broad stroke. Nowhere is it implied PvEers only play elite.
What's with this trend of directly insulting a particular poster and then putting a smiley at the end? Just insult the person. Stick to your guns, it's more effective that way.
I think it's because they're going for a sneer tbh. It's meant to add a heavy note of condescension to accentuate the insult.
No, then they'd just use rolleyes as such![]()
Some folks feel dolling up insults in a thin veneer of civility makes them more palatable. This is absurd for a number of reasons.
"...how badly he was ganked,...". "...it's only fair...". Do you not even notice the bleeding hypocrisy of what you are writing? Can you say: 'Credibility Crash'. The game just imposed itself. Don't like it, huh?
What I know is that you're so sour and indignant, that it's easy to send you into a tailspin just by tossing in a few tongue-in-cheek jabs here and there.

Oh snap. Now you tell me I've been using smiley faces incorrectly all this time???![]()
