PvP DG2 over? Not going to beagle point?

So all that determination you fanfared was... nothing as your self titled overlord's name depicts?

It would be cool if when I come back from dw2 you finally create a faction ingame so that we can have fun together.

Highly doubt a bunch of gankers would have the guts to travel to Beagle point even if they were forced to.

I'm not currently heading to BP, but that's more of a work related real life issue. I have in fact had the "guts" to go there before with the original DWE. 141st on the 65,000LY from Sol club. As for the DG guys, I doubt them not going has anything to do with lack of intestinal fortitude, but rather less tolerance for mind numbing tedium.

A PVE main mechanic has not many things to do with PVP contents. Posts like this are not gonna stop gankers and put them into PVE activities. It's quite the opposite.

Seems like you did not read or misunderstood the discussion you linked, with the wrong assumption that I started the thread to stop gankers.

I do not care about stopping gankers.
It is about real partecipation with other players.
Player factions are not a pve exclusive mechanic, they help to legitimate player interactions and RP.

That would let seasoned pvpers in ED find a better opposition than a bunch of 80ly condas.

I apologize then if that's not your intent .

Gankers might be famous/infamous to some extent, but they are definitely outnumbered in a PVE (I said main, not exclusive) environment. It's hard to keep people on a war that they can't win, not to mention it's already boring enough.

Factions can help role playing, but they are not necessary. You just said DG2 yourself. No matter how hard you tried to avoid it before, it has already become a fixed concept inside of you. That's exactly the purpose of the gankers, and they don't need anything more to prove themselves. Ingame reason CMDR Zarek Null doesn't own a faction? Why should he be bound by one, when all factions should bow to him (not that I agree, but that's another thing)?

Apologies accepted.

What harm could do to make one then? I do not understand this reticence in creating a player faction.

It would not be boring if his faction would try to get a power or a player faction's territory for example. The factions would have to defend it.

I understand FD did not do a good job with the bgs, as effects of a faction effectively conquering another's territory are hard to tell, but still it would create player interactions outside the usual pvpers.

I suppose with the new cgs coming this year a player faction could get more help from the devs too. Like for every null faction owned system, anyone who does not belong to null's faction cannot dock at stations and is fired upon.

A cause can shake those players who are always in private groups or in solo.

Take me for instance, I like pvp but I have no interest in these totally out of role without true consequences kind of pvp duels.

What makes you say that?

A significant fraction of the DG2 list has already been to Beagle Point and some of them have ambushed tourists there in the past.

Beagle Point isn't even hard to get to in the current state of the game, and there has been many a gank at Sag A* before Engineering, Guardian modules, synthesis, or FSD boosts...when such a trip was a considerably more significant undertaking than hauling an Anaconda, Cutter, or Phantom to Beagle Point is today.

Of course, the majority will have lost interest and won't be going, but I'd be very surprised if a greater proportion of DW2 made it to Beagle Point than DG2, even if DG2 isn't there in a formal capacity.

Anyone who actually wanted to take part in DW2 will continue to Beagle but at there own pass not everyone can keep up with the travel time.

I mean, we got over 3k kills on an expedition done almost entirely within a private group we were all banned from. In the process, we essentially got the entire discord/PG locked down and official mass jumps cancelled out of pure fear that we would infiltrate it.

Our goals were achieved to the Overlord's satisfaction, so we went home.

I'm not show how to interpret that.

Do you doubt the veracity of my statements. Do you interpret a non-existent contradiction?

Anyone who actually wanted to take part in DW2 will continue to Beagle but at there own pass not everyone can keep up with the travel time.

A significant portion of the DW2 sign-ups are never likely to see Beagle Point, irrespective of their original intent, or the pace of the expedition.

Anyone who actually wants to continue to Beagle Point will continue to Beagle Point. Some of them will be looking to shoot down CMDRs they find there.

I'm guessing many of the *heroes* who chased after the DW2 exploration fleet were hoping for a shipyard to be added to Explorer's Anchorage, so good to see it wasn't and hopefully never will be. :D
Actually I have no doubt some of them will continue on to BP on "alt accounts", they may be unable to truly enjoy the pleasures of exploration but they certainly like making mischief and ruining someone's day makes thousands of light years of tedium well worthwhile. Be wary explorers, unless you are prepared for that of course.
As for the "overlord" we will one day get him out of his parents' basement and turn him into a wall decoration for the coming messiah's throne room! WO!

I don't know how you can say that :) Your pals handle the mind-numbing challenge of ganking helpless ships with ease, obviously the explorer ships presented a greater challenge than those in Eravate?
