22 March newsletter

Clearly, the forum upgrade story has been a cunning ruse to distract our gullible & now miniscule player base, while fdev sneak out the back door and off to their new purpose built dino-development facility in a derelict oddbins mid way between CI(g) and Hello Games offices, so as to copy from the masters .... Sorry. Brexit is getting to me.

Having read every reply in this thread, I'm of the opinion that you have a VERY broad definition of 'white knight trolling' and 'panic-defence mode'. Care to point to the specific posts in here that triggered this accusation?

'white knight trolling' and 'panic-defence mode' = everything not agreeing with my current opinion I guess *shrugs*

So, one poster has stayed on topic and actually answered the question.

Anybody else care to confirm that they haven't received the newsletter that was due on the 22nd?

If anyone of the posters had received the newsletter they would've told you, so you can count every other post as an indirect answer to your question. ;)

I think we reached a point where the term "white knight" should be added to the filter, it's clear that it is meant as an insult almost every time it's being used and I am getting kind of tired of this nonsense.

With respect Ian, is this appropriate conduct for a moderator? Is inflaming hostility and confrontation part of your remit in that role? My understand is that moderators should be impartial.

I think that if he is replying in his capacity as a mod, the post will have a blue background. If he is just taking issue with your post like anyone else would, it doesn't have the special background.

PS: I take issue with your post too.

He just asked you to back up your claim... Where is the harm there (btw this last few years I am far from a white night before I get accused of that. Butt hurt fanboy would be more accurate insult for me if you need one ;) )

I ask a simple question, you reply with intimations that I'm hostile and flaming. I'm also - as a member of this forum - allowed to express my opinions.

Again, where do you see 'white knight trolling' and 'panic-defence mode' in the replies to this thread? Aa answer to the question would be appreciated.

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and say the OP feels that way due to the sheer number of off topic replies to a simple question, which seems to be the M.O. of certain posters when a thread is perceived as negative.

Okay, I confess - I'm the White Knight!

As for the topic, a dirty router can easily overheat and lose packets, which would explain why the OP hasn't received his news letter. People need to stop blaming Frontier for these things :p

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and say that the funny and humorous replies in this thread are based on the random doomsaying that happens on every second thread in this forum by the same handful of toxic posters. By the way, most replies actually have been on topic.

Nope. I'm dead serious about the game's doom.
