It seems like every day or 2 someone opens a new thread about custom music, loudspeakers and/or onboard music.
This show's how big of an issue this is and how important we think it is.

Why :


First of all, i want to say this isn't a knock on how bad Frontiers music is, as actually it's very GOOD.
But i/we still think custom music and loudspeakers is a must have...


When you visited Disney, you will be singing "its a small world" all day. The music and the ride are connected very tightly and maybe the music is the most important part of the ride.


Pirates of the Caribbean would not be the same without the "yo-ho yoho a pirate's life for me".
I can think of legions more example's where the music is really an extention of the ride.


Frontier is giving us awesome freedom in creativity, which we all love. But when we can make a 1001 different rides or area's, we also need 1001 theme songs to go with it. As good as Frontiers music is, it can never supply in all we need. And im not even talking about all the people who love to make re-creations of real life rides.


(Please don't start the whole copyright discussion, i own a lot of (theme park) CD's, and as long as i don't put it on youtube or it doesn't get shared im free to use it. And Frontier is not responsible wheater im sharing my music or not)




What do we know :


- In a very early Q&A it was said that custom music was not on the list (back then).


- In a later livestream it was being said that onboard music was under consideration.


- It was also stated that having loudspeakers required a lot of thinking before it was going to get implemented.


- Yeterday in the Q&A it was stated they liked the idea of adding loudspeakers.




Final :


To me this is all really confusing. We get all creativity we ask for but this seems to be the only (big) subject that is unsure. And i really don't get why because with everything the fans and Frontier seem to really be on the same page exept this.


When you think about darkrides that are more or less confirmed, how can you have them in a believable way when you dont have loudspeakers with (custom) music? You can't just ride the ride in silence as that would be really weird. Nor would the music Frontier will give us be ever sufficient to fit every ride we can come up with.


This might seem a bit arrogant but i hope this thread will stay "alive" so the subject can be discussed in here instead of a new thread popping up every 2 day's.
I hope we will get more information about this soon. Hopefully when we get the Q&A with the sound people.

As long as Frontier isn't distributing other peoples copyrighted material without permission through their planned park sharing feature they should be fine...

That said we should be able to name and add descriptions to the speakers that way we can at least tell other players what song we imported to that speaker so that they can seek out their own copy of the intended track through a third party like I-Tunes or Google or Amazon, or their own stack of music CDs in the event that they already own their own copy of the track...

Of those threads you linked you created 3 of them....2 of the others were also created by the same user as well.

We get it you want custom music. There is a Q&A about audio and sound on the 12th May, why don't you wait for that and see if it answers any of your questions?

I wasn't aware i listed 3 of my own, some of them are quite old and i only used 1 search criteria. Just wanted to point out there were a lot of threads and even more single posts about this feature.

And ofcourse i will wait untill the Q&A, but it's only when we express things that things will be heard. Especially because the feature not being there is somewhat confusion because it's almost inseparatable with other features.

But you are right, all i can do is point out how often it is requested but linking to a few of my own posts might not have been the best idea. Hopefully the Q&A will give some answers.

Adding on to this, an idea I would love to see along these lines would be triggered audio attached to specific parts of rides. (only example I can think of is in Splash Mountain, Brer Fox says something right before you go down the really big drop). This would also be really cool if you could put it on paths, or have it trigger with scenery. In "spooky" themed areas you could jumpscare your guests every now and then. >:) Or in sci-fi areas, you could have massive laser battles with ACTUAL LASER SOUNDS.
