Priority Pass?

On Portaventura, Salou, Spain, you buy the fast pass, and you can get priority entrance in any ride witch supports fast pass (or Express pass in Portaventura).

You can get a card or a bracelet, depending on which kind of pass you bought.

Example:

Allows 1 fast access per attraction. Does not provide access to the front row. Its price is €29
Price per day.
Attractions with Express access: Shambhala, Furius Baco, Dragon Khan, Templo del Fuego, Tutuki Splash, Stampida, Angkor, Silver River Flume, El Diablo – Tren de la Mina, Grand Canyon Rapids.

Express Max Gold

Express Premium
Bracelet that gives unlimited access to the main attractions without queuing. Does not provide access to the front row. Its price is €48.

(Now they have even more passes than when i was 3 years ago. At that time, if i am not mistaken, there was only 2)

Thanks for explaining!!

Like others have stated, it's a great addition to the game!

Brett, if the guests buy 1 fast pass, will they be able to use it for all the roller coasters that have it? I mean, is it 1 use for 1 fast pass or it is like in real life that you pay (30€ for example) and you can use it all day?

I'm really all for the fast pass. Really cool they've added it. BUT: what i really don't like is that the priority queue starts off of the normal queue. I havn't seen that in real life. The express queue has always a separate entrance to the normal queue und joins the normal queue shortly before the station (or not like in port aventura).

Hope that it is not overcomplicating the system and that frontier will implement that.

Since priority pass lanes are being added, I hope ALL (LENGTHY) queue lines fill up like they used to in RCT2 regardless of differences in ride preference. I don't want to recreate a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park and then half of the queues aren't full. Pretty much makes the priority pass lanes useless if none of the lines fill up.

Example of LONG line lol: https://www.flickr.com/photos/seabamirum/2590237947

Currently, the lines do fill up, but not when I make extremely long queue paths (RCT2, they always filled up regardless of the amount of rides in park). I already know from another thread that the current guest to ride algorithm is based on how many rides are in the park.

I don't want to shoot myself in the foot for saying this, as this could change in the near future. Right now, the info kiosk controls the price to the Priority Pass / Fast Pass 'ticket'. Rides have their own individual price control to those without such a pass, much like previous iterations of the genre.

Let's hope you're right, because it would be cool this way.

I really hope we can make queues shorter/longer during the day (without everyone leaving) if there is demand for it, just like in real themeparks where they have parts that are only used if needed. Like this with chains

I am just happy they have added fast pass. We can play about with it and make suggestions after.

agreed. I already do this with main rides in my park. I know they don't get used but I still add them as I do fast pass lines too. I can now use my fast pass lines but would like to use my extended queues too.

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure have a mixed system of some rides having separate entrances (Rip Ride Rockit; Jurassic Park River Adventure) but with Dragon Challenge, you join the queue as normal and then when you enter the castle, a Fast Pass / Quick Queue entrance is on your right. I have never seen this in the UK, usually it is a separate entrance next to the main entrance (Saw The Ride - Thorpe Park (TP) / Oblivion - Alton Towers) or an entirely separate entrance located elsewhere (Colossus - TP / Nemesis Inferno - TP). So while it is uncommon, it does exist and it's not entirely awful! Loving Priority Passes too, so just glad it's there.

Hopefully Planet Coaster won't evacuate the queue on a ride breaking down (RCT3, ARGH!!!) but it'd be a nice little touch if guests who left the queue during a break down were automatically given a priority pass to return later by the attendant at the front of the queue.

I'd also like to see the Priority Pass option on Flat Rides, I couldn't see this option within bits of the streams I have seen?! Some Flats are massively popular and, just as in real life, Fast Pas exists upon them (Samurai - TP; Rush - TP)

Six Flags parks and Cedar Fair parks have either a completely separate entrance for Fast Pass or you enter through the exit. I'd like to see something more like that. The way they're saying it will be paid for sounds realistic though.

Thanks for clearing that up :) i don't know Dragon Challenge, but may it be that they've added the Quick Pass after they've the attraction and couldn't figure out another way to implement it there? It just feels weird to queue like everyone else just to get to where the quick lane starts, especially when the normal queue is full.

And regarding your question: you could see it in the streams today that priority pass is availabe to all attractions including flat rides!! (It's just not shown in the setup window, but is later availabe under the operations tab)

Awesome, this makes me extremely happy. Got a little geek excitement going on.

I never rode Dragon Challenge in it's previous incarnation, Duelling Dragons, but Universal's Fast pass system has been around for quite a while. I would ASSUME that it's always been this way. More recently Universal now have metal detectors at the entrances of a few of their rides, this is done a short walk into the Dragon Challenge queue line and just after the metal detector stage is the split of Fast pass and normal queue. Essentially you only cut down a long queue because you no longer have to walk what feels like a ten mile trek to get to the stations! Bloody good rides though.

Great news!!!

I hope we can start the fast pass from the main path and not from the waiting queue like shown in the stream :)

Yes, I agree. It's fine that it connects to the end of the main queue at the loading point, but it would be really great if a priority entrance point could be set off from a main path separate from the entrance to the regular queue. Regrdless, it is a wonderful addition to the game. Much love to the devs for figuring it out and adding it.

What about queues for the front row seats? / Front Row / First Wagon / Single rider seats

In Europe the parks got a an additional queue just like the fast pass path but for people who wanna ride the front row of the wagon or single driver seats.
(At no additional cost, its just another queue, but you most likely have to wait longer for the place in the front than all the others.)
Maybe u can that aswell? Since the general mechanic for smth like this was allready implemented with the fast pass.

^I don't think that would benefit the game in any way other than being cosmetic, as opposed to the fastpass system that actually adds a new managment option.
Even small things take a long time to code.

Anyway, I was so thrilled about the fastpass thing when I saw it that I actually ended up dreaming about rollercoaster stuff tonight because that's what I was thinking about at the time.

I love it to bits BUT also hope they'll have seperate entrances as a possibility.

Either way this is an insanely cool feature that I'm so happy is in the game.

Every park that i've ever been to has been like that, buy it online, show up at the place, they print it off for you, generally as a wristband for a set price, and ride ALL THE THINGS! [big grin][up]
most parks sell fast tracks for individual rides, a group of rides and then an unlimited version

The best example of the priority pass queue from the Gamescom streams is at the beginning of this clip...
