Well Sam, I think we can all sleep better now, knowing what you have in store for us, some fantastic wooden coasters, dark rides and some pretty exciting water features to come at a later stage in development. It's great to know that everyone at Frontier are really concentrating hard, to make this the best possible Theme Park game and we are all 100% behind you all.

You guys crack me up! [yesnod]

Unfortunately it's no longer safe for me to continue as the voices in my head as convincing me to spill all the beans so I must retreat to the shoebox under the bed for safety [hehe]

I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow and I hope my answers where mostly satisfactory.

I shall be doing a big push tomorrow as my time is soon coming to a close.. I'll probably have to pick some of my fave questions tomorrow as this thread could take many, many moons to answer everything and I may not get it done before the game gets released [uhh]

Goodnight my fellow PCs!

WAW!!! Nice good ideaa!

"Will the guests use catwalks on coasters if the coaster breaks down?"
It's a great idea which I'd not previously thought of. I'll put this forward, you never know, one day you may have added a new feature.

Thanks Sam to considere it!! Of course Coasters are going to be the main core of the Planet Coaster Atrractions :p And reading all your answers, i can't doubt tht u are working hard on them [heart]

[redface] I wonder too about the poligons we saw on the closed coaster curves on Dev Blog 3 >.< But i imagine are going to be soft in the final relase :)

Thank you so much !!! [heart][heart][heart]

It's official ! You are about to create the best game in the world if you continue like this !

Good night Sam.
And see you soon I hope [yesnod]

Hi grod4L https://forums-cdn.frontier.co.uk/images/pc/buttons/viewpost-right.png

Ah, I wondered when I'd get a dark ride question [noob] Dark rides are very technically challenging and we have our top men on the job.. TOP MEN! (and women, a large proportion of our team are female and should be properly represented!) [up]
We want to make dark rides as best an experience as we can provide but it's no mean feat! We'll let you know more as the technology develops but this is something the team is very excited about, especially me [yesnod]

This answer really excites me!

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer everyone's questions! Most of my questions have already been asked in one way or another, so I'm just happy to read all the responses.

Hi, Thank you sam for all of your answer, I have been reading all the thread but i don't remember to have seen these question. (I know it's a bit late, tomorrow is the last day for this Q&A, but i got member of the CHC only a few days ago)

1) Can we sync the dispatch of multiple coaster (even if the station is not just next to it, like the Dragon Challenge in Universal Studios Orlando)

2) Do some element of the track need to be change, like every 6 months or so? And do rides gets old? (It could be like Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris, where they have change the catapult cable, the reparation would cost money like a refurbishment)

3) Is there a significant way we can see if a ride broken down (smoke, evacuation/working light,...)

4) Is there walkthrough/playing attraction like maze, minigolf, playground for kids (and benches for the parents to rest), arcade game where peeps can win prizes, ...

Thanks :)

(I hope you don't mind my poor english, i'm not an native speaker ;) )

Hi Lettuce https://forums-cdn.frontier.co.uk/images/pc/buttons/viewpost-right.png

"Will there be hybrid/RMC coasters in the game"
Hybrids will definitely be in Planet Coaster! We'd be insane not to include them. The wooden coaster tech is still in development and we are really looking forward to sharing it with you once it's ready :)

"Will we be able to see the technical stats for our coaster like GeForces and Speed."
The technical data output from the coaster you build is something we're looking into, I'm afraid that's all I can say at the moment as it's too early to comment.

"Will we be able to have more than one car on a coaster track without making a station big enough to hold all the cars?"
I'm aware that there are various configurations possible including station platform layouts to transfer tracks, multiple stations etc. The station set-up is a big feature for us and we're aiming to ensure we do the coasters justice in the respect.

"Will there be water/ water rides in the Early Bird Edition?"

Unfortunately I'm unable to reveal the answer to this question, but keep watching for updates ;)

"Will the guests use catwalks on coasters if the coaster breaks down?"

"What's your favorite ride/coaster type that you have seen so far in Planet Coaster?"
The Aethon! She's a beauty!

I really like the look of the Ghost Rider's massive first drop, must be gut wrenchingly awesome!
Thanks Sam! You made my day with Hybrid coasters being in the game! As for Ghost Rider, the first drop is awesome! I've ridden the ride multiple times and the bumpiness always makes me anxious. In fact, its shut down for maintenance right now so they can smooth out the ride.

Bumpiness Isn't even the word. I rode it 6 years ago and still feel the vibrations in my spine! [haha]

Awesome answers and news! It gets better and better and better and better!

Thanks so much Sam, your response has made EXTREMELY excited about what you guys are working on! It's good to know you are really working hard to implement it - I can't tell you how grateful I am, from the bottom of my heart, for all your effort and passion! I just can't freaking wait for this game!!!

Just want to say thanks to Sam for answering these questions in his own time. Shows how dedicated the devs are to this game and the community. :)

Evening all!

It's good to be back with you all again [yesnod]

I'm going to pick through some questions tonight and answer the ones I feel I can give a good answer to (or randomly throw a dart at the screen as see what happens [mouth shut])

Hello,

I am a hugh Disney fan, so most of the rides I think of are their dark rides like Peter Pan, and Mr Toads Wild ride. My favorite coaster right now would be the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Can you elaborate on the Dark Ride aspect?
Once you enclose something indoors will it be truly dark inside?
How important is theming on the coasters and rides?
Will there be water rides like the log flume, and river rapids?
What kind of transport rides will there be at launch? Monorail, Train?

Thanks,

Hi MrBill

"Can you elaborate on the Dark Ride aspect?

See my previous post on this subject :)

"How important is theming on the coasters and rides?"

We will have variously themed rides throughout the game but the main focus is to provide a good 'Generic' ride set as we know how popular but there's also a degree of ride customisation which will help a great deal. But yes, themeing is very important to planet Coaster and we guarantee you'll love it... it's kick ass!

"Will there be water rides like the log flume, and river rapids?"
We have definitely considered at least one of the above, muahahahah [big grin]

"What kind of transport rides will there be at launch? Monorail, Train?"

Monorails and trains are a staple to any theme park, I think we might be revealing one of the transport rides really soon and it's a real beauty!

Hey Sam!

Thank you for taking the time answering our questions. Great questions so far and i hope they get all answered ;)
My questions is regarding editing. Say you have completed a coaster and want to change a piece of track. Do you have to delete that piece of track or will you be able to alter it in someway. How do you plan to connect to existing tracks? As the tracks are more free-form there should be some sort of help connecting to existing track pieces!?

Hi CoasterDrive

"Thank you for taking the time answering our questions. Great questions so far and i hope they get all answered ;)"
No problem, it's my pleasure...but I'm running out of time here but I'll answer what I can.

As you know, Frontier have made many coaster games and we feel that we progress at every game we build. The coaster editing is a highly fluid part of the development process and we are trying to maintain that it's satisfying, intuitive, easy and fun but also allows for casual players and power players to both get what they want... To Build awesome roller coasters.
I think this will develop and change over time, especially once you guys get your hands on it [noob] But we have made excellent progress thus far.
