Option for More Realistic Time System with Park Open & Closing Schedual

i love this idea, however its need an option to play the game you like. Wold love it when my Coasters standing still in nighttime <3. Empty Queques and when the park opening new guests in my park. Sounds so awesome <3

UPDATED: I saw others discussing the possibility of in-game time matching real life, with 24 hours in-game actually taking 24hours IRL. That seems a bit overkill to me, somebody else mentioned 4-6 hours IRL being 1 day in game, but I think 2 hours would be too long. 1 hour per game-day would mean 2 weeks in-game would take 14 hours, I think that's perfect.

I don't think so...I don't want to play one park for months only to win a scenario. A scenario goal like "Amount of guests ect. in three years" would be impossible to play and no fun at all. If I need to speed up time all the way to beat a scenario it won't be any fun for me. And a scenario goal like "build a great park in two (ingame) days..." how stupid would that be? And I think scenarios need a timeline...I don't like the scenarios of rct2 and 3 with goals like (build 3 coasters with intensity xy in your park). I think a scenario should be beatable in two hours - that's more than enough.

And closure times are uninteresting as well (at least to me)....why should I look at an empty park every night? This "realistic-mode" would kill any playability of the game and would be like watching a model-railway...and make playing one single game a full-time hobby.
Of course, they could make an option to pull this mode on and off...but that would cost many development ressources - and really - do we need this feature? It would exclude all casual gamers and everyone who like to play scenarios... and if you want to see people leave a park at night etc...why don't you close it manually.

Why change a running system?
And I'm pretty sure - nearly everybody will be bored by that feature after a short time...You need to play one park for 2 full weeks (336 hours) to make a one-year old (ingame) park.

Its fine if you dont like it, thats why it would be optional. The fact you said it would be like a model railway is kind of what I was going for [yesnod] it would be fun to see both, especially for making videos or just having fun in first person

and your math is misunderstood... 336 hours for 2 weeks is NOT what i said

i dont think you read the whole thing did you just skip to the last paragraph?? it would actually be more for scenario mode, and yes I could just close my park, but i want it to integrate staff and possibly happen quicker

Objectives wouldnt require a year to pass, objectives would still be the same (ie 1-2 week objective = a 4-5 years objective) you didnt read the 2nd paragraph.

<<"build a great park in two (ingame) days...">> ... okay - change days to weeks (or even months)
I think it sounds much more realistic when the objective says "years" instead of "weeks"...because which real-life park needs to make any profit in two weeks?

But I've discussed this problem in an older thread months ago...I don't think that we will find a common denominator;) But I really, really doubt that Frontier will include this feature...because I think they know that they have more important things to do than implementing a minor feature ike this one, that will add nothing to the gameplay

+1, I would prefer longer day/night cycles which can be chosen by the player.

For example a slider from 1h till 24h when you create a park where you can specify how long a cycle should be.
i would also like to have schedules for attractions, so you can close certain attractions at an specific time. (Due to Safety)

I see everyone talking about how it wouldn't work because the guests move in real time... If this cycle were to become an OPTION that could be turned on then the guests and park could simply move at a faster pace with the ability to slow it down to real-time if you want to do something to ride a coaster from the guest POV or something. Speeding up the guests is not an unreasonable thing to do since it's already possible.

I really like this idea of have opening and closing time especially if you could change the times which your park opens and closes. This way if you didn't want your park to close at all all you have to do is just select a tick box in the menu.

I also would love to see an "off-season" through the winter months or whatever months you choose. Where when it is not in the off season you can plan rides using a blue-print type of coaster constructor. It would be the same as the already good coaster builder except it would be opaque blue. Then, when the park reaches the off-season you will see cranes pop up and start constructing/tearing down what you had planned. Also, If you could have "coming soon' signs with a picture of what you were planning (If that is possible) that would be amazing!

The problem is that while guests move in real time, nothing else in the game is scaled for real time. So things like building costs are scaled based on making the game accessible and fun. Day night cycles are based on allowing people to see both day and night without having to fast forward or wait 12 hours. It also makes it easier to micromanage things if you aren't constantly having to fast forward and slow down between building to see if your changes are having an impact. The game already lacks realism, so trying to add it arbitrarily to some elements and not others just makes it more disjointed, not more realistic. I could see a use for time tracking for things like scheduling events, determining peak hours for restaurants and rides, having opening and closing hours to justify structures like hotels, but not at a realistic scale. Also, user defined scales make it impossible to properly balance things like construction costs and objective based modes of gameplay, so I'm not thrilled with that idea, either.

My OP never said anything about 12 hour cycles, anybody who likes that ideas has no clue what they are talking about

I wasn't responding to you, but the people suggesting a 24 hour day cycle, or at least the option for it.

They should do a customizable time table. So you can choose real time or speed it up as much as you want or even halt it at a certain time of day. I know Nolimits 2 has this and I usually keep my day/night cycle on at real time. And if there is a real time option, it would be great to set park hours and watch guests come in. From what I've seen, a good amount of guests come in right at opening, then up until noon or so, guests casually saunter in until the park reaches a certain maximum number of guests (usually a little after noon since everyone is awake by that point who slept in). Then the crowds stay at that max level until the evening and, unless there's a big firework show or something, the crowd levels slowly go down a bit as the evening reaches close to midnight. But that's assuming you keep the park open way late. Disney parks tend to stay open until at least 9, if not 10, 11 or 12 (and sometimes 1 am) whereas Universal parks tend to close at 6 or 7.

It would also be nice to have the option to keep your park always open and just have guests come and go and have a slide bar or something to choose your crowd levels, say from 1 to 10. 1 being ghost town with 100 guests or less spread thin across your park and then 10 being park capacity. (Maybe add an 11 being "The Flood?" [noob] )

I would really like quite advanced timeoptions so users themselves can choose. I agree with the original post. I would like however to be able to be able to having open throughout the nights.
I generally like realism, but some parks have nightopen, and either way I think in this game, the night is the prime time to play with all the lights and sceneries at its best in my book. Would be awesome to see a dynamic set of options to get the format of time that you personally prefer!

Thanks for a awesome game!

The time pass too fast in PC, we don't have time to see day and night pass. An option to increase of decrease this time in gameplay would be great to not be force to fast forward if it's too slow or not having the option to slow it down.

For the moment, seasonal events would go too fast with the current speed.

Without changing all the time system, at least give an option to slow the speed would be great.

This I like but it relies a lot on things that are currently not in game and so to simulate accordingly would be frustrating.

With your hours that sound about right I would suggest that the hours be split in the following:

Day hours are 6am till 11pm (restaurant closure) as the player will still be interacting with guests and taking care of needs. That would allow you to play with the 17 day hours at 3 mins and the night hours would be 1.25 mins per hour.

What needs to be addressed with the above of course is what is the player to be doing during the hours of 11pm to 6am? At the moment they would have 9 mins of watching time go by
