I like moving walkways. The simple fact of having the ground moving at different speeds relative to one another is a great opportunity to have fun.
Unfortunately, most moving walkways we are used to are designed to be purely functional. There is very little space to goof around. In the rare places where you could have enough space, it's usually at a constantly moving ride station like Disney's phantom manor for example. Not only you are already busy doing something else (embarking/disembarking the actual ride), but there are station operator keeping watch and stopping everything at the first sign of someone doing something unusual.
I have found one example of a moving walkway actually designed to encourage people having fun : the 1900 Paris universal expo Edison moving boardwalk.
Not only the moving walkway was the actual ride, it was not one but two blended moving walkways at different speeds, and it was designed to allow (encourage) people having fun and move between the different walkways.
