New ships?

There are some new ships (to me anyway) in the latest newsletter:

Top: 1.?----2.?----3.Lakon type 9----4.Beluga----5.?
Middle: 6.?----7.Eagle----8.Hauler----9.Viper----10.?----11.Cobra----12.Lakon type 6----13.Orca
Bottom: 14.Sidewinder

I don't see the Panther Clipper here unless it's number 2 with fins added.

Also, I think some of these are well into development whereas others are still concept models. If you look at full resolution all of the currently flyable ships have a lot of detail, the others do not have quite as much. In particular the Beluga, number 5 and Orca have little detailing but this could be due to the liners having a high level of finish rather than low detail. Of the ships I don't recognise 2 and 6 seem to have the most detail - will we be seeing these next I wonder?

I only ever played Elite (so never saw the newer ships in other versions) and I have a bad memory for this type of thing so others may be able to better identify some of these.

Ah... wasn't sure about that one and I don't think I've ever seen an Asp Explorer before, even in concept art. Just went for the type 9 because of the shape.

I guess they couldn't put the Anaconda and Type 9 on that image without making the smaller ships too tiny to see.

Not sure on that one. I'll admit it does look like the Asp concept art, but the scale seems wrong. Presuming it is to scale.

The Asp at least in FE2 and FFE was only slightly larger than the cobra. A true multi role vessel.

Or..it is to scale and the scale of the Asp has changed...

It could be to scale thinking about it. Its about twice as big as a cobra.

Copying and pasting the Cobra over the top shows it's the same width but about twice as long on that image.

6. ??? Looks familiar but I cant think what it could be.
7. Eagle
8. Hauler
9. Viper
10. Puma Clipper ???
11. Cobra
12. Lakon 6
13. Dolphin
14. Sidewinder

I don't think that 2. is a Beluga. The images from Edge magazine earlier in the year showed something longer and bigger, roughly the size of an Anaconda.

2 has similar lines to the Hauler. Maybe a super-Hauler of some sort.

Nope, its definitely the Orca and the Dolphin there. They match perfectly.

The Beluga is much bigger, and all bigger ships are not shown in this chart (like the conda, the space cow, the Panther etc etc).
