General / Off-Topic What do you do outside Planet Coaster?

I´m season worked (I'm an artist 3d, animation and motions films CG) in my country there is little work. Right now I work full time (i´m lucky). And I do not have much time to keep trying planet coaster or other games [cry]

This is me IMDB page http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5251634/ [yesnod]

I envy Uk, Usa... there if there CG industry. [cry]

I'm a ♥♥♥♥ star. Just kidding, I'm actually a 3D model maker and texturer, working with companies like Daz3d. I work around a 9 - 5, and do all the usual things like gym, socialising etc. I don't really play many games tbh. I like games such as Uncharted, as I really appreciate the detail, and simulation games like cities skylines. Once Planet Coaster is released, I plan on giving up work altogether, locking myself away and glueing myself to the chair to play it non stop [big grin] I also want to make content for the game if it becomes a feature, and hope to build up a portfolio of Planet Coaster mods and UGC. Here's hoping!

You are very similar to me. Sometimes worked modelling and texturing, for archviz usually, never I worked for daz3d or Poser, I´m very curious about this job. (You know the 3d artist Stonemason?) http://stefan-morrell.com/#/ Is so inspiring for me!!

Regards.

I'm a 2D Animator, but currently not doing any paid work within that field yet. Decided to take a bit of a break from that, so I am just at a liquor shop for now.
I do animate and draw in my spare time when I'm not playing Planet Coaster though.

Engineer/designer - I design and build water displays and set pieces for film, TV and events.

So naturally, I'm waiting for Frontier to give us a way to control the SFX pieces :D

Conveniently I work abroad a lot, and as I work for myself I always seem to find the time to check out local parks...

My day gig is a purchasing agent for a cement company. What I do away from work is dabble with PC building looking to build my first virtural pinball machine. If I'm not messing with that than is photography and than photo editing/movie editing or just playing games on my PC. But have a feeling of will become my greatest hobby after the 9th

I'm a jeweler, and have had my own business for 7 years. Planet Coaster may be it's demise. [haha]

I do it all...CAD, 4 Axis Milling, 3D Printing, Casting, Setting, finishing. All of it.
I work pretty much seven days a week.

Can I be sure that I don't have that same rug??

I'm studying to become a math/ Dutch language teacher. So right now, most of my time goes to preparing my lessons I have to teach. I try to implement Planet Coaster / the world of theme parks as much as I can, and I am succeeding I have to say ^^. The students love it too, so win-win for both parties

Yes I know Stonemason. Not personally, but their work is all over the Daz and Poser sites. It is stunning work, really is. I've bought a lot from Stonemason, and I even break their items apart to see how they were made, for inspiration.

For me personally, I find the 2 sites very particular, in that they like certain things, but not others. I've tried to produce many things for Daz, but they only seem interested in a certain type of product. I've made a lot for the Genesis characters, but they've only ever accepted one scene that I designed. I find I do a lot of work, only for it to be rejected, so I've moved away from them a little now. I still make money with them, and still make the odd product every now and then, but I'm not as active as I used to be.

I spoke to some careers advisors at EGX who explained that modding would be a good way to build up a portfolio of my work, so enabling me to apply for jobs in the industry. This is my main aim now. I'm hoping Planet Coaster will be the platform for this, as it is the game I have always dreamt of, but there are other games if not, from a modding point of view.

Kind Regards [happy]

Anderson Pooper eh? I have an odd feeling I know where that originated from. [haha]

During my free time, I play Xbox 360 (I have a full Xbox 360 friends list). I also have Xbox One with Kinect. I like Minecraft, The Sims 4, swimming, mini golf. I have a Hauppauge HD PVR2 which I got 2 years ago which can record Xbox 360 and Xbox One and PC gameplay including commentary and game chat, and put them on Youtube. I'm also going to get a PS4 Pro so I can play World of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy XV. I live in NZ. And over the summer holidays (December-February for NZ/Australia), spending a whole week in Sydney Australia, and I'll be going to Rainbows End a couple of times, which is New Zealand's amusement park in Auckland. They have fun rides very similar to Planet Coaster, including Log Flume Ride (cough, Frontier, this is a heavily requested feature), Stratosphere, Pirate Ship, Bumper boats. Yes we have all these rides at Rainbows End, even for a small country like NZ. Going to watch the fireworks in Sydney over new years.

Sound very interesting! and yes, make some props for games, is a good idea and very motivating. But... when you make mods for games, you end up having a game portfolio, no is bad. But is a little different, lowpoly optimized, normal maps... test in a game engine. The pipeline is different for movies. For the moment I working on some archviz projects, but soon, I hope work again in films. Me dream is go to ILM for work on real hype movies, like starwars [rolleyes] Me last tutor, on a online course, and some old jobmates are working on ILM in Rogue One, they are modelers and mattepainters. [tongue]

Cheers.

1. Retired
2. 24/7 caregiver for my disabled GF.
Wow. You're amazing.

I work full time for a university, spend as little time as possible doing boring household stuff.

Gaming is varied. Fallout series (I like RPGs), some racing games, management games and GTA.

I also play the violin in a local amateur orchestra, and I'm currently studying for my Grade 5 music theory exam.

I was a full time carer along with my wife for my 'in-laws' who lived with us. Sadly they are now gone so I am retired and carefree!!

I am a maintenance engineer at my local theme park, Drayton Manor, which is 5 mins down the road. Our work load has picked up massively now that the park has closed for the winter. No longer are we just conducting general and preventive maintenance like we do when the park is open.

Apart from that I play video games when I can, although having a 2 year old son takes up lots of my time.

Sounds like a dating website!

I sit on my butt eating crisps.

God, I love this thread.

Haha, You're correct! It sounds like a dating website. But I think everybody is to old or me. [haha]

Did... did you just call me old...? [weird]

Wow, good luck with this. I see myself more as a game modeller. I am not so good at high poly models, so I think a game portfolio is better for me. I wish I was better so I could work in films, but sadly I am not. It would be great to work on a film like Starwars, so I hope you manage to get there. [happy] Maybe your mates can help you get in [wink]

When not playing Planet Coaster, I am a webdeveloper. Almost ready to start my own company! :D

Right now I am working in a big kids playground park in The Netherlands, Plaswijckpark. We have some little attractions, animals and of course a big playground where kids can play, so, it isn't a themepark but something like it :p
