Starting with out all the bonuses

I will be able to start with the basic ship and 100/100 credits won't I?

It's nice to get all the bonus stuff but making it from the bottom is what the game's really about (for me anyway).

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure this will be an option but if it's not just smash yourself into the wall a few times. On the Kickstarter rewards they were all "Option to start in a ..."

It would be nuts not to.

Personally I think all people who chooses to ignore any and all starter options, inc half price insurance, should all be offered a unique decal for their ship - or a modified elite emblem for their rank - to show they had the option to cheat but chose not to ;)

Good point. It would also be good to know who plays Iron Man.
If I were to encounter a fight between ships and knew one of them were playing IM, I would help that player. Unless I have a mission where he/she's in the way...

If my understanding is correct the 'Iron Man' players are in their own special group, and won't see 'normal' players.

I think that was to stop a 'normal' player with nothing to lose ramming the iron man 'for the lulz' and seeing months of grind evaporate.

I may be wrong.

I don't see it as a 'Cheat'.
If you took a risk and supported ED from the start, then by all means have a little leg up!

FYI: I didn't get in early enough (I'm a Prem-Beta, lifetime Expansion type of guy), so will start in a beat up, rusty Sidewinder, and a 100 crumpled credits in my pocket.

yaffle that is correct.

Uridium.... I was only teasing (mostly) dont get me wrong, for ME I would be cheating, but it is only myself I would be cheating.

if having a leg up does not bother you then great (conversely i will take any and every advantage i can in star citizen for instance), but I know me personally in Elite, I would regret it eventually if I took the perks.

I want access to the founders world - just because I want to see it - and I will probably make use of the perks if I have other characters - but I just know I need to earn everything myself with my main guy.

to each their own however.

Given that by the time of release a lot of us will have earned an Eagle 50 times over, and sold it for something else 50 times, it's not really a step up, but a small step toward getting back to where we used to be and will be again with little effort.

My question is do reward ships like this have hangar storage fees? If they do there's going to be a lot of people who don't want them just junking them. With that in mind, check the link in my sig. ;)

By the time the game comes out I expect to have started with a base ship one time to many.

I'll take my Cobra kitted out for long range exploring thank you ;)

Iron Man is very tempting. The people choosing it, will (at least at start) think twice before attacking unprovoked.

For me, it feels like cheating, to have after a few days over a million bucks with no risk.

Also it has the old style Elite benefit for me. ADRENALINE. What is the point of playing, when you can't really loose? I mean, just buy a Viper and after death, money solves all your problems right?

The present economy is not what will be there on release ,so I am not sure what your problem is ...No risk ....same again...

While exiting the station, you discover a note that says, "Go to the second planet in the system; there may be an enhanced ship waiting for you..."

I think that sort of approach would be best for immersion.
