My Concept Screens for a Management UI Overhaul

What about a button next to the staff to hire multiple staff at once.

Say you want to hire 5 Janitors at once, you just set the number to 5, then hire which ever staff member you want as normal and it places 5 at once.

I'd like to see the guest thought section have some sort of graph instead of just % numbers. RCT sort of had something like this where they showed a head for each guest with that thought: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net...dalism2.png/revision/latest?cb=20140121104704

So at a glance you could see if it was a very common thought, or only a few people were thinking it. Instead of looking at the numbers. I also like how it shows more than a couple of thoughts like PC does.

Looks interesting and contains some good ideas![up]

The only problem I see is the usability of your design - I'm not sure if it's really better than the actual one.
As example you could test both with a model like the KLM.
I personally think there are to many pop ups in your one.

The idea to create little screens, which can be on the side while playing is great!
This could help a lot while playing challenge mode.

I am so for the bottom left alteration in the 15/11 update! The current process to get to certain tabs is a bit excessive. Personally I experienced the hiring process even as counter intuitive (to go first to the park management screen). So yes, I would love to see this small alteration.

Just want to keep this thread alive so others can see it. There are some excellent ideas and layout designs in here that I would love to see added. There is room for more as some other recent threads have suggested other tabs in the ride UI for instance but these things noted here really address the overall UI points in the game certainly for myself and many others.

Would be good to see peoples feedback now that we have things moving forward and what could be done. I know it is likely not high on Frontier list but it does change things and I know they took note of thread as they moved it from the Alpha forums originally and so hope they are working on some parts still.

Edit:

This is still the one that sells it for me. Just to have so much usable screen space.

Ah yeah I forgot all about this thread.

These ideas are great. I really wish we will be able to have some more fine control over the UI. Being able to drag & resize windows or open multiple windows next to eachother would make life so much easier!

Also to have multiple tabs/windows open at once is so great. Kinda like how it was in rct1 and 2 [heart]

Thought it might be the case. People forget things, luckily I have all my stuff written down so can go back and link things to one another. There are so many threads lost and forgotten and so many things that could work off one another that it gets rather confusing unless you can all follow train of thought which is difficult to explain via a forum.

Going with what is here, I like the idea of things nested as for me it looks cleaner and makes more sense for items to be grouped.

I would say the screen I showed in the latest reply is probably first priority and then being able to un-nest and move sections would be second and that way it make customisation easier as we go through things.

I actually have been googling for this thread a month ago but couldn't find it. So thanks alot for the bump.

I really hope we will be able to resize the UI and drag it and have multiple windows open at once.

Surely this shouldn't be that complicated, right devs?

I heard someone say there are UI changes in the upcoming update. Anything from this thread that has been added?

No unfortunately. It is really just the update to the blueprints that was added to the UI and of course the new security tab rather than an actual change to the UI.

With UI changes they probably mean additions for the newly added systems. From what they showed of the UI it looked the same as it does now. But who knows, we could be in for a surprise since we don't know how old that dev-build they were using was .

They stated the version they was using was the current live 1.2 as they have it ready for the public and not a dev build so what you saw is what we are getting at the moment although of course that could change in a week but don't expect massive differences.

As above they also stated what the UI changes were so don't expect anything different on that front.

When the game crashed at the beginning of the stream they said it was a dev build.

The very start of the stream said otherwise and was repeated a number of times otherwise. Andy also said that it's not their usual dev build because he couldn't put a code in to destroy the benches. I believe you miss heard as they said a number of times that it was the latest 1.2 build for us but will be updated more still.

Huh, now that I think about it they did indeed. A bit of conflicting information but wouldn't be the first time. [tongue] I also don't expect them to really change the UI anyway apart from some new additions but I can still hope right?? [tongue][big grin][sad][sad]
