On-stage/off-stage and shop supplies

Hi all

I did a search for "on-stage off-stage" but nothing came up so I thought I would start a new thread.

On-stage / off-stage
I would like the ability to create Disney-style off-stage areas through a set of gates in a wall solely for staff use. Like in real life, this could be used for staff to move around the park without being seen in the wrong themed area (ie no Captain Lockjaw in the sci-fi area) and to move supplies around the park.

I think this would be a nice touch of realism because, if you look at satellite images of real parks, there are quite a number of off-stage areas around most parks used for storage, movement, parade floats etc. Parks are very rarely completely open for guests to explore every nook and cranny.

Shop supplies
I expect this suggestion to be a little more controversial, but it ties in with making better use of the off-stage areas noted above. I would like to see a feature where staff members (maybe handymen?) collect supplies and use a golf-cart or similar buggy to move supplies around the park to replentish your shops throughout the day.

This would also mean the off-stage areas can be used for supply storage and opens the possibility of needing to create a loading dock at the edge of your park for these supplies to come in.

I'm not suggesting supply delivery and management to the level of Prison Architect, but I think it would be a nice touch to the realism to at least show supplies being delivered and moved around the park.

Yes this is something we definitely need. We've already got backstage pieces like staff doors ad roof fans so you can create the appearance of this, but I agree that the game could really benefit from functional backstage areas. Parketict is heading in this direction with staff rooms and paths, as well as deliveries, so maybe PC will follow suit.

I think that the best way of implementing this would be for you to zone areas of your park, similar to Cities Skyline districts (I don't know if this has been suggested already). This would allow you to pick staff uniforms/ entertainers for an area, and only that area.

Yeah, +1. I like the system RCTW has, normal paths, but with ''no entry'' or ''X'' signs, so guests won't walk on those paths, but employees will.

I know the way I made buildings and designed the park would be different.

Sure we can do it now but it's not the same if it is just a completly unused area. Cause I notice if there is nothing there for a guest they don't go there.

If this was done would it not require the employees of the park to enter and exit their ride/shops if we want it to be utilized by anyone but entertainers and mechanics? That could certainly add an interesting layer to the game of ensuring you have enough employees to operate rides, have enough hidden entrances so that they can get around quickly and easily, and could be used to have break rooms and what not that are hidden from the public eye to keep your employees happy.
It could also stack with other ideas like parades and special events ie if you don't have enough backstage space you can't utilize certain parade pieces or host certain events. Sorry I'm over here rambling.

I think thats a great idea. I like the stock/storage idea. Maybe give people the option like advanced mode so they can micro manage the game. As in control the stock rooms and shops etc and order more in as if you would in real life. The loading bay idea is good too.

Good ideas! Hope to see these in the game.
