VR Support

Well I got a great idea.

Simply that the game supports Oculus Rift, Vive and all those other things so you can experience your own coasters in a good view I would say but for the Vive it has a option to walk in the park.

Hope you can do something with this.

I really hope they do add VR support. Probably won't be at launch tho. I'm sure they are looking into it, so hopefully it gets the green light. Add VR plus the ability to download other peoples parks and this game just got even sweeter. I would love to have a VR peep mode where I can walk around and ride the rides of the parks I download.

You're not the only one wanting VR support for Planet Coaster. ;)

Uh ohh...i see what you did here [mouth shut]

May i "soft translate" this in "We don't have it right now but we're looking at possibility's for the future"? [tongue]

I have both a Vive and Rift (for the development of my own little horror game) and I would.. ahem. love to be a potential tester of this feature if it ever comes to fruition.

The ability to ride your own coasters, possibly with roomscale to walk your park or even build your park with a "god view" (dont know a better word) mode.

If they add VR support it will basically make me get a Vive or Rift. I want to make a custom chair that simulates a coaster seat and turn on a fan in front of me to add to the realism haha.

I know Frontier has VR support with Elite:Dangerous, any word or thoughts on the new 360 degree view youtube has? Would be really interesting to be able to record videos like that in PC for people who dont have VR too!

turn on a fan in front of me to add to the realism haha.
guess well need to mod that fan to match the speed of the coaster! [yesnod]

A lot of fans would highly recommend VR support that is not just limited to single VR equipments but multiple i.e. the Oculus Rift AND Vive and so on.

anybody know if there still working on this ? just got a vr headset and would love to see it ass a feature, also found this video and it appears to be planet coaster ? not sure how hes recorded it in vr though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqbmX59H_OM
We don't know if Frontier are working on anything VR related for Planet Coaster. It's unlikely though, simply because it's a very computationally demanding game and getting the framerates required (2 eyes each rendering @ 90 fps) doesn't appear to be possible at this point.

The video you posted looks like a recording was made with a wide aspect ratio and then post-processed. Looks like the video is wrapped onto half a cylinder and a 3D model of a car interior is used to limit the view to effectively 180 degrees while still allowing the user to look around.

games like planet coaster or driving simulators are perfect for this, games where you need to press alot of keys to play the game is not suitible for it. but planet coaster and in ride view vr support is perfect.

This would be risky, due to the amount of people who don't have a powerful PC. Which is required to use PC VR.

I think Frontier stated a few times they would like to have VR for Planet Coaster but its technically not possible right now.

You would need super super super expensive computers to do that. The computers able to do that simply don't exist (yet) for general public.

I did say in a list of suggestions, It'd be cool to have a "VR Mode" or "VR Sandbox" thats limited to like... just a rollercoaster, or a certain amount of rides...
Or a special building sandbox limited to a certain amount of objects that people can make, save, then import into their saved parks when finished
