Saved up (college student) for a while, bought for $45, suddenly it's $11

Just here to vent.

Posted on the Steam forum when it happened, but a few hours before it went on the 75% off sale, I had been eyeing this game and decided to buy it. As a broke college student, this really hurts me to see I could have saved almost $35 if I had waited a few more hours. Steam support refuses to refund as I had went past the two hour mark.

Steams policy is usually something like you can refund a game only if you played it for less than 2 hours. Not sure if their policy is the same with sales, but it probably is. You should have posted a little sooner because the sale started over 2 weeks ago and I think is over now.

May sound a bit harsh but in life you win some and you lose some (would presume you weren't necessarily expecting more hoping). This is unlucky but any kind of refund would set a bad precedent with others then trying the same (where do you draw the line in terms of who gets one and who doesn't?) Always watch out for those Steam sales as they're around the same times every year. [cool]

"Oh, we WANT to be fair but we CAN'T, then we'd have to do it for EVERYBODY, that'd be BAD FOR BUSINESS, woe is us! [redface]" Yeah, no. The other side of “Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware” is doing stuff that makes potential buyers wary (like refusing to make obviously valid compensation) is bad for business. [sulk]
