Economy downfall

Devs play with events system, just give you a hint that such cases could happen locally (due of war and another event).

Galaxy map trade routes will always have a delay and there's always be a risk that something will be changed already.

Well if only there was a hint on were the war is going on Ill probably join. I don't think is the eranin stuff cuz thats been going on since the start

The devs are messing around. Don't worry. I am sure things will be back to normal soon.

I personally hope they don't return to normal.

People have COMPLETELY saturated the market by using 3rd party programs to mechanize trading to a mindless grind with the only bit of thinking being needed to dock without eating another ship or the station body.

Good work Devs.

Buying out 1 item and completely dumping all of it at one place is going to screw a lot of things up and what the devs have done reflects what happens when you saturate the market with static values and don't actually make the market shift in any form.

Now, say I buy all the weaponry from Federation systems and "relocate" them to the Eranin systems, I wonder if the dev crew will emulate such actions like they've done with the market to show what players can change when the tides of war hinge on economy.

There have been quite a few 'The Game is too easy' and 'There's nothing to do' posts lately....

Soon it will be 'OMG, It's too hard!'

Those are skirmishes. If newsletter is indicator, there will be major war going on on that system. We haven't seen nothing yet.

.

Agreed, I never used 3rd party apps because they really detract from the experience and whats the point of them really? Dumb down trading?. IF that's the reason I'm also glad, this apps should not be allowed ingame IMO

Now is not hard is just OMG what's there to do now.

These are the end times. They have been foretold. Prepare yourselves brothers, the end in near!

Perhaps not the end of times but the end of Beta 1 :D.

This may be a bug in the jar experiment from Frontier but I think they want to see how we do with an ever increasing shortage of products and see how that changes gameplay before busting the bubble with the next version.

If that's the case all I have to say is...

THERE ARE 4 LIGHTS!!!

I've been using 3rd party to help me maximise my trading because I simply don't got the time to go around without any pointers to where I can get a good profit...

I know there is the galaxy map and today was the first time I used it for trading because my 3rd party app actually went wild because of this low on everything everywhere.

I think these apps should be allowed even I think it should be allowed to integrated them better with Elite:Dangerous.

it is simply up to you if you want to use it or not. but don't let your decision to not use it go against people who have decided to use it for one or another reason.
in the end it is up to Frontier what they want to do and when they decide one way or another I'll adapt to whatever happens.

today trading is nearly impossible. I've gone over to smuggling or well stealing you could say I see it floating around and I collect and sell in black markets seems to give more profit ATM than trading.

the system types themselves are the pointers, if its an industrial it will need raw materials and food, an agricultural will need crop harvesters, animal monitors and possibly terrain enrichment systems.

its not rocket science and it hasn't changed much since the first game hit the shops nearly 30 years ago now.

its just a case of learning what each type of economy needs to run and buying accordingly. i can often make 600+ a tonne profit without even looking at the trade routes or an external app (never use them - don't need them)

and it's great that you can.
but I'm not going to spend the time needed to be able to figure out stuff like that.

it's this simple the pointers are not any that you can estimate profits on. all you can do is to say the flow goes in that direction so if I buy this now then I might be lucky to sell it with profit there but it could easily be that you only would earn 50 per ton in profit or 1000 per ton in profit. the only way to really know is to go there spending time that I don't have much on.

if I had the time I could go around and learn where there usually could be a good profit so it could optimise my guesses but they would still be guesses because this market is affect-able you won't be able to predict a steady profit on anything. so every time is a risk that you need to go other place to get enough profit to be worth your time...

I would love if I had some better estimates or pointers than best guesses. especially because I'm a player that don't have that much time per week so I need to be able to optimise my play to be most profitable and most enjoyable.

and I'm not going to keep being a trader it's just the means to get in to a ship worth anything.

and I know it's not rocket science it's just about spending the time learning where the profit lies. but you say you steadily get 600+ profit per ton well I can say I often get a lot more than that because of this app. and it's simply to help me get to a ship where I can start playing how I'd like to play.

and yes this is a beta so I know once we get on the other side of release a lot is changed another reason for me to hurry up and try to get to where I'd like to be so I can use that to decide after the game is released.

being able to maybe play 2-4 hours a week is not a lot in this game.

Market empty?

I'm new to the game and managed to get some trading done to make money for a new ship.

This was OK for 2 days but now the market is as good as empty.

Does the market get reseeded weekly or am I missing something?

Just complete my four system run. Last weekend I made about 17,000 credits this time it was 20K.

Is there or will there be a specific symbol for "credits"??

Oolite uses the Cruzeiro symbol, ₢. I have no idea if FD plan anything other than CR or Cr.

Also, for future reference, have a look through the forums as there were already a few threads going about this. :)
