Planet Coaster - Update 1.0.2

Hey everyone,

Just popping on quickly to let you know that we have our second post release update going live this morning which we’re estimating will go out at roughly 11am BST.

The update includes a number of fixes and stability improvements, listed below.

And don't forget, we have a special seasonal gift for you all with our Free Winter update, which I'm pleased to be able to confirm will be making its way to you all on the 15 December!

The Winter update will have number of festive treats with something for all types of players and includes the Collider flat ride, as voted for in our community poll. Watch this space for more info!

Here’s today’s update notes:

  • Stability/crash fixes
  • Functionality fixes
    • "Don't block station" option doesn't always work for Monorail
    • Chinese / Japanese / Korean fonts look unclear when using Community Translations
    • Selecting Hard Challenge actually loads Hard Challenge rather than Medium
  • Text fixes
    • "Kerb" is now "Curb" in American English
    • "Total Research Spend" is now "Total Research Expenditure"

As a final note, we’ve had a few people reporting a 700MB download on Steam this morning. It would appear that this was a Steam side update. We believe this was the removal of the sound track and re-upload, just so you know!

Thanks!

Zac

Thank you.

Could we have some more info on the stability / crash fixes?

Does it also improve the performance drop most of Nvidia users noticed after the last update?

Just opened Steam... Boop... Game updated... That didn't take long... 104.5 MB was pretty quick update... So glad this isn't dial-up internet anymore...

;-)

Thank you Frontier . Cant wait to see snow in the park and Santa coming along... oh wait just dreaming lol.

Does this update also include a fix for the numerous crashes we're exeriencing? Today more than 5 times in on hour! Each time I've uploaded the crash report.

Hi Zac,

thanks for this informatiom. Are the complete and modified ride signs wir are waiting for part of the update?

Best regards Michael

How would they know that in an hour if you've only just uploaded the crash reports each time?

What ride signs that we are waiting for?

I've been sending these reports for a long time (since release of V1.0!!)! AND I'm not the only one! Started with the release of version 1.0!
It is getting worse by the day!
The most often mentioned possibility is that the larger parks of V1.0 are NOT up to handling more items on them. So parks can be larger but don't seem to be able to handle the additional amount of rides and scenery!

OK sorry but you wrote it as if it had happened since this update, however to note, all the reports I am seeing from people that have reported crashes are being fixed as fast as possible. Not getting worse.

The influx of new machines and the changes they done to accommodate no doubt cause a few issues but they are resolving them as quick as possible. To suggest that they are not working on this when people are reporting fixes is unfair. Of course certain crashes can take longer to sort.

Edit: Are you using your laptop or desktop with these crashes and what drivers you on? Hardware? I tried to see if you had reported anything here but no thread comes up so I guess you've just been sending the crash reports.

Just want to see if there was something odd. I know that certainly one driver 375.63? For Nvidia had issues on the 10 series.

Make sure you don't only send crash reports. Submit information to the Bug report forum too. Give them a dxdiag, and information of what you were doing at time of the crash. Also of course performance will decrease as you add more detail and rides. They can't optimize everything and expect to get a major increase in performance all the time. The only real solution for this is to have better hardware in your PC.

I guess the 'Collider' and the other 3 rides must be complete then, as I thought it took appox a Month to do a ride......unless the Poll was rigged [big grin]

Oh, we're 'GMT' now, not 'BST' [happy]

I am pretty sure they have all 4 rides up to point 'X' with names, concept art, first rigging/animation but the two weeks then can finish that one ride off out the 4 and then work on other things at same time to balance what they provide different players would be my assumption.

And it was only an average. So that would suggest some take 3 weeks and others 5 for instance.

And once you have your bug thread open, make sure you put a link to it in the crash reporter so that the developers can link your DxDiag and any other relevant information to the specific instances of the crash occurring.
