Dark Ride (Spooky Pack) Issues and Suggestions

I used the Hoax/Ghost Train tracked ride to make a dark ride, but the ride will always enter 3 cars at a time, and the ride settings will not allow you to allow only one car at a time through the ride, which ruins the scares and gags in the ride due to the timing. I hope we get the option to change this. Just have the options for the cars and cars per train like they were in RCT3 when it comes to dark rides. That works the best.

Also needless to say, I would like more spooky animatronics and gags for my dark rides. I appreciate the ones available, but I was really expecting more... Stuff like witches, vampires, ghouls and other classic dark ride gags. Also I wish we had the option to resize the objects as well (especially the animatronic spiders).

There are some witch animatronics in fairytale scenary and there is a mummy and snakes in adventure which could be used [happy]

Yeah, but I meant a more halloween themed witch. I've used the mummies in my dark ride, but still there's a lack of classic dark ride gags. Stobe lights would also be nice to have as well.

Also I'm having an issue with the trigger speakers in the game. They stop working after a while.

Hi Sir Isaac,

You could add a "break object" to all of your trigger points with a delay of about 10 seconds. So at least when the three car train passes only the first car triggers your scares and gags. Sure it is not perfect but at least the 2nd and 3rd car won't disturb the triggers for the first car anymore... :-/

I think hoax also needs brakes, cars are getting way too fast when you build a 2nd, 3rd floor, ... ghost train.

I will try that for now. I do hope they just adjust the options of cars and cars per train so I can set it to only allow 1 car into the ride at a time. Puzzles me why they wouldn't have that option right off the bat.

Also I am having trouble with trigger speakers. They work for a bit, then they stop working. When I exited the game and restarted and went t the ride. they worked again. Anyone else having this problem?

I just starting trying to make a darkride using the Hoax and it is completely pointless because you cannot use the triggered doors with it. The second or third car in the three car train hits the door after it closes. Why can't we have more spacing between the 3 cars? Makes no sense to even have the darkride doors if you can't use them with the darkride. [ugh]

Exactly. This is why they should've allowed one car into the ride at a time. It's an option in RCT3 for almost ANY tracked ride in general, let alone the dark rides.
Hopefully in th enext update they'll fix it.

It's because RCT3 groups could be split. They can't in PlanCo.
You will never see any single car (2 passenger) rides in this game because of that. (That don't operate like the hoax)
Also why I don't think you'll ever see a waterslide in PlanCo. If they add them, they will operate similar to the hoax ride.

So, in a way, you should be grateful they figured out a way to have the hoax ride at all!

Yes it would be better if the Cars would be treated as single cars, but as it is of now three cars are one Unit. It is tough to have triggered Events this way, i agree. In this case i would advise to have a continous loop as they are used in Omnimover Rides. Another Ride Type that is missing, and i guess very tough to implement, because it is designed to move continuously and the Game can't handle that at the Moment. (This is what i think in any case) Maybe the Programmers find a Way around this in the Future :)
 
So keep the 3 cars as a unit but space them out further apart so triggered objects can complete their animation cycles before the next car arrives. Seems like they never tested it themselves.
 
So does that at least partially explain why we don't have mazes, mini golf, and a classic helter skelter? No single riders?

Seems they should have planned that a little better, huh?
 
Yes. They are a terrible developer and should just stop making games since they have no idea what they are doing.

I didn't mean it derogatorily, I just meant that they have obviously put such effort into the game, it puzzles me that they would lock themselves out of an entire type of ride experience. Perhaps there is a workaround or something they could implement?

I mean, everyone is looking for mini golf and Helter Skelters, and mazes were one of the most requested rides in RCT3, so there is obviously interest for these things.

If they went with the old way RCT3 peeps worked, we could lose out on other benefits.
Then we would complain about that.

From the beginning of this game, watching the reactions for everything, what I have seen is no matter what Frontier does, it's wrong.

so if PlanCo added minigolf, or mazes, it would suddenly turn into an exact "clone" of rct3, as in every single aspect will be identical??

...well thats just silly [squeeeeee] if making a sequel to a game is considered unoriginal, why bother making sequels at all? certain aspects are going to be similar, if not exactly the same, like how we still place walls one click at a time as if it was still 2001 cuz click + drag would have totally ruined the idea of PlanCo being different lol... oh but your one of those guys who thinks the current terrain tools are flawless, and that adding terrain grids would be a step backwards, right?? lol [wacky]

I have never said Frontier is wrong. Interestingly, I have been labeled a fanboi on several other threads on this board, and now it seems that I am being labeled the opposite.

I was merely asking a perfectly innocent question about whether or not rides and attractions that cater to single riders is a viable thing that could or should be done, and this thread has gone rapidly downhill from there.


This is the problem, in my opinion, with this and several other forums. People don't take a moment to take cognizance of a statement before they have to knee-jerk react to what they perceive as either a slight or an approval of whatever the topic happens to be.

Mark Twain once said "It is better to keep your mouth closed and appear ignorant, than to open it and remove all doubt."

I believe I will be keeping my mouth closed from now on. Seems no matter what I say, it's wrong.
