Guests or Peeps?

This is something that I have always found very annoying: the word peep. The guests in RCT3 were introduced as peeps, and I always felt it took away the personality of the characters as you looked down on them from a godly perspective and called them a name that I would probably find quite condescending if someone used it to describe me.

Now we have Planet Coaster, and I see a lot of people referring to the "peeps" on here. In my opinion, that title just doesn't suit them at all. We have these very lifelike, extremely detailed people walking around our parks in their own little groups, talking their own language... But we call them peeps? To me, these people are my customers; my park guests; my visitors; people who actually have a personality that I can connect with. I think that the word peep is lifeless and empty and just so last century. Anyway, what do you all think about this pressing issue? I'd like to hear some other opinions.

I think it's a >>fashion<< "peps" or "peeps" especially among younger people. Say "people" is kind of too formal. The game is about having fun. Players are welcome to call them peps, peeps, people, or whatever you want. The game is for all ages thus everyone has different maturity levels.

I say guests now, but it took me some time in the beginning. Maybe more people are used to saying peeps, because we have been playing RCT3 for a very long time. It's indeed not that important.
I did notice that the Frontier Dev's definitely call them guests and even corrected some people who were saying peeps.

Feel free to call them what you want, I know it's hardly a game changing issue. I just thought I might share something that annoys me slightly [big grin].

I think it's fair to say that 'officially' they are called guests, until they annoy me with the walking back and forth thinking "Need more bacon". Then they are called all sorts of names I can't possibly repeat on a family friendly forum. [haha]

If they need more bacon they are geniuses.

I don't care a pap for it how they call them...Peeps or guests or animated polygon-formations...I don't give a hoot one way or the other - it's just a game after all;)

Is there a cheat code for a bacon shop? [tongue]

If they add the Bacon shop they could then add the tag line, "Now with 100% more bacon." The sales would break records.

Personally, I find guests sounds more professional, peeps sounds like the sort of cringy young youtuber teens would say.
"Hey there peeps, hows it going"

I personally love to call them guests, and as a volunteer moderator I'm with you 100% on using guests instead of 'peeps'. [big grin]

Like you and other members have said in this thread, 'guests' sounds like something you can connect to, it sounds more professional. Guests in Planet Coaster are little people that you can care about and have a sort of personality. They do have a lovely design in my humble opinion.

To me personally, 'peeps' sounds like a cheap thing. It's a word I personally find not worthy to use for the guests in Planet Coaster.

But like other members have said, Planet Coaster is just a game, although a great game (I think), but it is a game, and hence it does not contain 'real' people but only digital representations of people. Anyone can call the Planet Coaster guests how they would like to call them, whether it may be guests, peeps, people, or something else.

I personally like to use the word 'guests'. [big grin] [up]

Official or unofficial, they'll always be peeps to me. Its a term of endearment that has too much history to abandon due to branding. As far as I'm concerned, THIS is the software that carries the torch for the RCT franchise. Experientially speaking. Its a cute term and I've been caring for 'peeps' for so long, I'de feel it almost disrespectful to use the profession 'Disney' term for them, like this is some kind of business to run.

I prefer peps too. Its a game, not something we have to take maturely or seriously. Peps all the way. Peps is not a disrespectful term. its a word younger people use as its a fashion. Slang.

"Guests" is indeed more professional, cold, impersonal, formal, distant, academic, and proper.

"Peeps" is endearing, warm, casual, relaxed, personal, close, and friendly.
