Why do the rides have weird names?

I mean names like "Boa", "Iron Fury", and "Monster" when they could just be named what they're usually called or something similar.

You mean, why isn't the "Insanity" called a Fabbri Inverter? or the "Hammer Swing" a S&S Screaming Swing.

I think its the manufactures that make them, when Planet Coaster goes through creating their rides, I think they're always a little different so that they're not an exact copy, though this sort of game can help people learn, so I'm not sure why manufactures (if this is the case) wouldn't allow Planet Coaster to use their names and let people know who created what and who manufactures them, I think games like this would be a really good way of teaching and learning history.

With RollerCoaster Tycoon, I learned about block breaks, which I think may have been why one of the UK's parks had an accident last year.

It's all a legal thing more than anything. I'm sure that while a lot if companies would be happy with it there will be some that are not and would take any opportunity to sue Frontier if they could.

PS, RCT3 taught me all about block brakes too [happy]

It is more fun to advertise with spice up ride signs than plain stuff. [rolleyes]

And yeah, all those legal stuff already mentioned.

I'm all for fun and creative names, if they make sense to the ride. But I wish the names were more generic, in a sense, to describe the ride. "Insanity" doesn't tell me what ride it is (I know its double swing thats not the point), it doesn't fit considering there are more insane rides in the game. Obviously, we can rename them ourselves so at least give us names that fit the ride, like Insanity Inverter. (I wish that ride had a different theme, but thats another topic)

Personally, I don't like companies that put in advertisements (like EA sports). RCT2 had Six Flags which was fine, and RCT3 had Hershey's which was pushing it a little far IMO. I don't mind seeing real world parks add stuff in and the Hershey coaster was cool, but not the shops so much [tongue] I hope Frontier stays away from that for extra revenue.

It would be nice to see the actual ride names, but then again they may have to pay for the use of those which is why they state "no intentions of real rides blah blah..." at the start of the game (which kinda sucks but has always been true)

The Reese's peanut butter cups ride and shops in RCT3 Soaked was pushing it too far in my opinion. Also do Americans actually eat those things? I took a bite out of one once, it was one of the most vile things I have ever tasted.

I'm guessing some coaster/ride manufacturers are less willing to lend ride names to the games than others and they decided they would be consistently fictional rather than inconsistently accurate with the names. Although I do think that some of the ride names so far are a bit pretentious sounding, sometimes generic and descriptive is best.
