GameSpot Interview John Laws on Alpha 2 Upgrades

By the time Wednesday rolls around we will have found out all that's in alpha 2. And will be asking for more kinda bummed it's like knowing what you're getting as a gift before opening it.

I wonder if the coaster que lines are functional already.

- Coloring coasters seem to be in Alpha 2? (too bad it doesn't seem to be for scenery)
- Can we get height/curve/banking degrees when making a coster?
- It was said the entrance and exits of rides would be animated in Alpha 2 if i remember correct, in this build they weren't.

Funny I look at Wednesday as a time for the developers to show off new material and not answering questions. Maybe Wednesday's they should show and talk about new stuff and Thursday they answer the questions live chat gives us time to ask questions from live stream.

So, since i don't hang around the forums too much (i think this is my first post actually) i have to ask; did we already know the game's tentative release date was November? Because at the end of the IGN video he sorta just casually drops that info there. And it was my impression the game still only had a Q4 2016 release window up until now (from what i could find).

So if this was in fact the first time a more concrete release window was given, that's actually pretty big news!

Here's an article with a couple of interesting things to say on the management side of things:-

"Not only does one have to be mindful of their park’s layout, they also have to constantly be thinking toward expansion. What will the next new ride be? What sales can they offer to bring business to the shops? Will the pricing model be on a pay-to-ride basis, or can people buy one pass and have free access to everything in the park? What theme will your theme park be?

That’s just a handful of the many considerations one will have to make in order to succeed with Planet Coaster. Every decision made will have a direct consequence, whether good or bad. Don’t train up your staff enough, and your rides will be deemed unsafe for public use, your restaurants unsanitary. Use small unveiling events to drum up hype for a new attraction. Offer sales and discounts for a short time to drive up interest.

Small unveiling events?!?!

Seeing the water is such a tease. I hope they have future plans on tunneling coasters/paths into the water with glass tubes!

Caution of how the website words this, as it was not said directly by Frontier themselves, could be (and probably is) and overreaction by the writter, and its pretty normal in this type of previews on games. Still remember a magazine saying Diddy Kong was in smash bros melee because they confused him for an event in the game with various mini donkey kongs.

Yay for queues, Gulpee, and everything else! It all looks so good! Thanks for taking my suggestion on adding queues on coasters btw. [squeeeeee] [up]

Nice list for now. Wonder what kind of rides we are getting. The people mover train would be nice. But what is not.

B&M Dive Coaster

Giovanola Hyper Coaster
Gerstlauer Eurofighter (presented on the three point standard grid track)
B&M Family Coaster
B&M Sitting Coaster (seems like)
Arrow/Chance Hyper Coaster
Arrow/Vekoma Looping Coaster
B&M Hyper Coaster
B&M inverted Coaster (seems like)
Vekoma Launch Coaster
Gerstlauer,Zierer or Vekoma Family Coaster (depends on the track)
B&M Floorless Coaster

A bit surprised not to see the 4D-Coaster, but may be a bit more complicated to make and use. People should accustom to use the builder first before going more complex i guess.
