Some Minor Suggestions

I've been playing the alpha for a few days and I am loving it! This game will definitely be the premiere park management/simulator! I have a few suggestions that may or may not already be planned... please comment below if something I mention is already planned or in the alpha (and I missed it).

Things I suspect might already be a part of the game; but if not, should be:
1. The ability to place any prop or building piece at ANY height (not just predetermined heights). A feature similar to the rotate feature (hold z) would be nice. Perhaps this is already in the game?
2. The ability to place any piece in ANY spot and not just on a grid location. Again, might already be planned or in the game and I missed it.

Things I don't think are planned; but I believe should be:
1. The ability to combine two buildings together into one so that they share the same building grid. This is useful when designing a symmetric building; build one side, duplicate, rotate then recombine the duplicate part with the original to make a fully symmetric building that can then be itself duplicated.
2. Vending Machines (soda, snacks) would be great to place these in lines.

3. Props that prevent the AI from simply walking through them. I know this isn't typically how props, walls, trees...everything in the game operates but it would be nice to put some props in the middle of a large walkway that patrons would have to walk around. It would really add to the immersion.
4. The ability to combine two paths into one larger path to make a huge walking area. Similar to this:

5. Staff Walkways or at the very least make the walkways that are in the game react to doors placed on building facades as they react to each other and ticket booths. I know this is not how the system currently behaves and I also know the doors themselves aren't actually doors and are simply visual building facades but allowing a toggle or some way to make the paths react to them would add to the realism. Many times I add the generic "planet coaster door" (the one with the keypad) to the back of my themed buildings to give the staff a theoretical way into the building.
6. Golf carts or other vehicles on the paths. It would be cool to have these in the parks as either static props or actual functioning vehicles ( for maintenance, security personnel ). It would also be nice again in the visitors reacted to it. http://www.motoelectricvehicles.com/golf-carts-amusement-parks
7. Medical staff, medical go carts. Same reasons as above.
8. Parking lot for guests... would really add to the realism.
9. Video monitors for rides, speakers for music... all to give the people something to watch/listen to in the park.
10. A way to block walkways... similar the "under construction" signs found in other roller coaster games
11. Generic Picnic tables/areas for guests to sit down and consume food or take a break. Different variants like with umbrellas and without. This could be done with a prop that is place-able in a path that visitors cannot simply walk through. Like this:

EDIT: forgot one thing: some of the track pieces are a little "blocky" on sharp turns and humps... it would be nice to have more vertices in these pieces or at least have the vertices scale with the length of the piece so that the sharp points on the track pieces are less obvious... the smoother the better with the track pieces.

Anyway, I know that is a lot to ask... basically, I love the balance you all have made between realism and style. I do tend to lean more on realism and would love more things (like above) that lean towards that.

Thanks for making this awesome game!

Great suggestions! Let's hope we see them (at least some) in future updates.

I made a semi-large plaza in my first park:

edit: theoretically it could be made even bigger...

Hi Master Blaster,

You can already do this, build a building, then hold CTRL and select all aspects of the building you want to duplicate. Once selected click on duplicate and it will generate those pieces as is and you can place, rotate on the same building grid.

Hope this helps you out :)

If you get stuck I could put together a video to explain.

Hi Tom!

Thanks for this, I will try it tonight! I think I understand what you are describing. I'll let you know if I can't figure it out.

Nice Park Guy!

So, it looks like you can combine paths... whenever I tried to do that I just got a really rough circle... I'll try it again tonight.

That area created by Guy is done using the widest path in 3 lines next to each other and then joining them at the intervals. Where the little circles appear from the corners he has placed lampposts to cover them. Then smaller paths of the side that make planting areas are used either side to increase the width visually.

If you are trying to do 3 paths next to each other and it keeps connecting at an angle then select 90 degree with the tick box and hold control as you place the paths down then go back and join them together in the small sections.

Hope that makes sense a little and helps.

Regards,

Adam

Perfect explanation! It would have taken me many more words and STILL wouldn't have made much sense. Thank you.
