Any mods or other ways to approximate real snowfall?

It doesn't have to be particularly convincing, just able to make it look like it's snowing in the whole park. The FX emitters are pretty useless in that regard, unfortunately. Just too small.

RCT3 had a mod that was literally just huge transparent/clip-less boxes with a moving snow texture that it was very easy to spam around in the sky and make it look like it was snowing. Something like that would be perfect, if we can't have actual in-game snow.

I'm about to embark on the one reason I really bought this game to begin with and build my big holiday park, but not having snow falling is really dampening the mood :(

The game has no weather elements other than the sun shining the entire time.
Other than the VFX there are so far no plans for weather implementation as stated by Bo several times on different threads about weather [up].

Okay, I get that weather has been a frequent topic of conversation here, but copy/pasting your stock answer to all those other threads, about a question I didn't even ask, is of minimal help lol.

I understand the game does not have weather. I say in the very post you quote that I know the game doesn't/won't have weather. The very title asks if there's any way to approximate snow, and then I give an example of a mod in RCT3 that does exactly that.

That's the question! I don't care about an in-game weather system, I'm asking if there's been some similar mod or asset released to replicate the visual appearance of falling snow, even amateurishly. I literally just need white pixels falling from somewhere vaguely skyward, across the park.

Okay. Basic answer then. NO, there is no mod. Actually there are no mods at the moment. Might be in the future.

You can always get a white marker and paint dots on your screen if you are only interested in the idea of having snow when it's not really there.

Bummer. Big time. I was hoping there was an asset similar to the RCT3 one I described that I just wasn't finding in the workshop.

You'd think in a game plagued with content complaints from launch it would be worthwhile to take a little time to enable the importation of simple user-created assets, or at the very least textures, but aaaalright. Another year without a proper winter wonderland.

Alright for anybody as dependent on at least SOME visual impact of falling snow for your holiday enjoyment, the little snow widget linked to in this article is working for me, and I confirm no malware/virus hits when I downloaded the zip. https://www.techsupportalert.com/content/add-falling-snow-your-windows-desktop.htm Looks to be super lightweight with no resource drags, so it isn't impacting my performance so far.

Plenty of options to customize the type of flake and how it falls, and as long as you set the deactivation trigger to "none" it will continue playing over the Planet Coaster window, when you've got it windowed borderless.

Doesn't have any of the in-game spatial volume the way even that bog-simple RCT3 snow cube did, but it gets the job done(ish) for now.

actually people have made mods... theres a few trainers with cheats... theres the incomplete auto-tunnel for paths which has been unlocked through mods... and theres an entire thread all about mods by gregorburns who modified the main menu and also removed restrictions on coasters beyond what the game allows us... and I know he has more surprises in store for us that he hasnt shown off yet too!

Well that was a bit trollish [tongue]

The impulse to treat a simple question as if the person needs to be talked down to for daring to ask it looks to be as common around here now as it was a year+ ago. Even when the person answering literally didn't read the question being asked. And especially when the question dares to point out some lack in the game or be even tangentially related to such a topic. I ignored it, lol.

Anyway the widget I posted is working well enough, so anybody else in my position, there's a half solution for now. Hopefully by next year there'll be some way to actually approximate snow in-game.
