In my opinion, polls/surveys are completely overrated anywayAnd as I've already mentioned, both options (scenery and rides) are important equally.
So, we better get back to the real facts now: When do we see the next DLC/update?![]()

I think some people sometimes actually look for things to be offended at, or try to find hidden meaning in the simplest of things, like taking simple fun questions as serious data gathering.
Then no doubt will gripe later that Frontier doesn't want to communicate with us... [weird]

Why no water parks Bo? Because the game is Planet Coaster and not Planet Waterpark? I have a feeling that the game was rushed and that the game isn’t coded for things like water slides and mini golf which is why we will never see them. They aren’t going to overhaul the game code to allow those things, either. Fake mini golf and fake water slides don’t count. They’re just good for scenery. I like the game but unlike RCT3 it is missing a lot of stuff. The people are only coded to do certain things, they aren’t coded to undress and swim or swing golf clubs. I wish we would at least get working swimming pools and hot tubs for hotels but the hotel cubes are not designed for that. I can make a realistic pool and fill it with water but it won’t be functional like RCT3.

Explained what? I missed it. They don’t want to copy RCT3 with Planet Coaster? A lot of parks have water slides. Are we going to be stuck with non functional ones forever unless we go back to RCT3?
Unfortunately, that is indeed something that can and has influenced communication in the past. Communication is more likely to happen in a friendly and welcoming environment than in a hostile environment with chances of offending others, even if said communication wasn't meant to offend any one.
Can't recall that... there's a lot of threads out there.
I thought it was Bo, but there seems to be a gap in her posting timeline of 7 months without posts, I know she has been away for a short while, but I thought she replied it somewhere with a short notice.
It also happens with my own posting history (skips from 07/01/2018 to 15/08/2018) (and the general search as well)
Uhm... "hostile environment"? I don't think that's fair. Or who specifically are you talking about? Your comment reads like there was tons of insulting and outraged posts. What I read in here sounds more like disappointment.
I don't feel people are just waiting for a reason to bash Frontier either. It's been said before, some forum users feel left out. And there's reasons for that. (No idea how they're doing it these days but, for example, I remember there's been things showing up in other places first before going live on the forums.)
And now, from the FB poll I don't see how it should have been obvious that it was just a meaningless PR post. So it was the right move to clarify what it did and didn't mean. And it won't hurt to keep in mind how certain things can look to the fanbase.
Btw. a huge part of PR and marketing is anticipating how and what you're communicating is perceived by the target audience. So I'd argue it's their job to make sure not to offend - literally. (Bo can correct me if I got this wrong. [wink])
This "hostile" enviroment is here because some people share their dissapointments in certain aspect, but reactions to it are not adequate very often and criticism is generaly not well accepted on the forum.
And the poll is just a great example of wasted potential regarding the PR and I think it´s important for Frontier to accept the reaction of some of us here on the forum (and on FB too). It´s clear that even if the intention wasn´t bad, community is not entirely happy with such a " way to engage with people" and trying to save the day by saying that it means basically nothing didn´t help in my opinion.
My water park reply is here:
"We are aware that some of the community have been keen on getting a waterpark DLC or expansion pack. Currently we have no plans to develop this. We don’t feel that we can deliver this in a way that suits Planet Coaster, meets the quality level our fans deserve, and offer it at a reasonable price point.
We understand that this might cause a little disappointment with some of you, but please know that we have looked at all of our options and believe that this is what’s best for the game overall. Rest assured, the Planet Coaster dev team are still hard at work on the game."
Hope that clarifies.
As for comments about a "rotten" community, please take this from me: I've worked with many communities (not just at Frontier) and the Planet Coaster community is absolutely not "rotten". You're a wonderful bunch of people who are actually really respectful in stating your opinions and conveying your passion for the game in a great way! The fact that there's discussions and stuff is not a bad thing at all, we welcome it. So please don't think you're part of a negative community at all; trust me, it's very, very far from that actually![]()
(try working on a first-person shooter community, fun times...)
Have a lovely weekend,
<3 Bo
RCT3 soaked might not be as pretty as PlanCo, but considering its 15 years old its still an amazing accomplishment. You guys charged extra for early access ($75 for early birds even though nothing extra was available/included) and yet you are saying you would have to charge even more for water parks in PlanCo? You've given away PlanCo for under $10 when its on sale, why did you go so low? Was it because you were mostly focused on pumping out a bunch of small DLCs in hopes of people spending more money simply because it appears to be cheaper?? Anyway... I would rather pay another $45-$60 for a water park expansion, but I refuse to pay over $60 for the current DLC. I hate ala-cart pick-and-choose DLCs, I want one big complete expansion, and so do many other people. Casual gamers do not enjoy catalogues of decisions on which item to buy, and its time you start considering the casuals more. Water Parks would be that one stand-out must-have DLC especially if it offered more scenarios and management featuresWe don’t feel that we can deliver this in a way that suits Planet Coaster, meets the quality level our fans deserve, and offer it at a reasonable price point.
