8700k Benchmarks?

Hey guys, I was just curious if anybody was planning on purchasing the newly released i7 8700k. It has been getting great reviews, and apparently it can easily be overclocked to 5 ghz. I would love to see how this new cpu can handle planet coaster!

I'm very interested in purchasing this. Just waiting to hear more about it and to find out what others think about it. It sounds like it may be the best cpu out to play Planet Coaster.

I'm building a new PC and I'm wondering if I should get the 8700k or or just stick with the 7700k that I was going to go with originally.

Just saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPvgoQ64E08&t=303s
He actually tested Planet Coaster using the 6700k and the new 8700k but didn't get much of an improvement using the new one. Not sure what size park he had unfortunately

I'm curious how he did the benchmarking?

As far as I know Skylake and KabyLake 6700k and 7700k are pretty much the exact same CPU. Coffee lake has 6 cores instead of 4 but the base clock is way lower and the boost clock is a bit higher but you can archieve that with good OC too so I don't think the 8700k would be worth the investment since something about drawcalls only be able to use 1 core anyway so the game wont run better.

Unfortunately the 8700k,7700k and 6700k are all pretty much the same,it simply isn't gonna matter what hardware you buy.until the planet coaster developers dig down into the code and rewrite the game to support multiple cores instead of 1 single threaded high core, don't waste hundreds of dollars, the only way you are gonna see huge gains and that's if more than 50 percent of the workload is moved to the gpu or sometime in the near future we have a 7 ghz cpu.i have tested them all,not much helps unless you can increase that single threaded performance.the game should have been coded different when it was in development.maybe planet coaster 2 will be put on the unreal engine or something completely new.the 7700k at 5ghz or higher is the best u are going to get.if you are on the 4790k or lower,go with the 8700k.
