Natural Path Markers?

Having small stones as path markers would be a nice mid-point. That way it would look more natural than white posts.

Only just over a week to go until we find out (and I have the following week off work)

Having those path markers along the edges of the Natural Paths, detracts from having freedom paths running through the landscape. It would be better without them, just to have the worn grass effect would look much better, without any markers at all. I just hope Frontier picks up on this and decides to remove the stone markers altogether.

Personally I like the new paths and the markers, the little wooden markers look nice. However I love the idea of the slider to spread them out or none at all. Can't wait for next week. Nice long bank holiday weekend to play :)

I love the whole idea of natural paths. The markers don't bother me so much (although I like the idea of having rocks or stones marking the edges).

It means we can make small fair type parks which don't always have hard paths.

I guess the DEVs didn't thought about any open country roads and fields when they made this natural paths. The small fences is obvious considered for roads close to vegetation in a flower park or a forest. And of course, to make the road visible even after we eventually recolors it to invisibility.

I like the idea of stone edges as a compromise. This is after all a double issue to be solved. Visibility and style.

The thing is : when you say "natural" path is that it's supposed to be done in a "natural" way, which mean : no curbs.

For now it's not a "natural path", but just a different kind of "path" like any other, just with a different design. (which is great by the way, don't get me wrong)
But natural paths are made by the people (something called the user experience, like the famous picture below) and not the park owner.

So, even if most (if not all) like the new paths (this feature was a real good surprise [yesnod][up]), we still don't have "natural path" for now, nor the "invisible" path that would allow us to make really cool things (like "gardens" with pic-nic tables that seem to be in the middle of the lawn, for example).
And, I think it's an addition they can do extremely fast to be honest.

PS : It's something I have in my questions for the next Q&A, so, we will be fixed quickly I guess. [happy]

Angelis... LOL! That pics says it all. You can also connect it to Miyamotos sayings about game desigers intention of gameplay and the users free way of gameplay that never follows the designers intentions. [heart]
Always be open minded for everyone to play your game on its own way!

Not just the look of picnic tables in the field but paths through our wonderful buildings.

Yeah, it's the funny thing about posting this picture in this thread. [big grin]

This has one literally and a figurative sense [uhh]

Not just the look of picnic tables in the field but paths through our wonderful buildings.
Yes, and many other applications to which we do not think yet.

It would be nice if we had other options for the edges.
As well as the default one and none,(which is essential for them to look natural), more choices would be great.

Even these would give us loads of scope when designing paths.

Those would be better as a building tool. We could then line paths ourselves, but could also line flower beds and other stuff.

Frankly Frontier messed up. They gave us so much power in our building tools and customization that we want more. Stuff we would not even thought about had they not done so well with the stuff they did give to us.
