Please make ships persistent on Log/Quit! Tired of logout escapes

Can we please have ships persist for some time (30-60secs?) on a quit/log out ? I have seen this used way too many times in order to avoid death, mainly in the Eranin "conflict zones". No, these people aren't jumping out of system, and its far too convenient that it happens right when their hull drops to 10% or less in the middle of a fight for it to be a server side error.

I think another thread suggested this is also a problem, but do the developers know about it ?

Its really frustrating to have someone attack you out of nowhere, then you proceed to outfight them, then they log off in order to escape dying. I am assuming they are then dropping into solo mode and flying to the station to repair.

Speaking of which, the entire ability to mirror in solo mode seems a bit gameworld breaking, allowing people to bypass blockades, escape destruction, etc.

The Devs do know about it and there are a lot more than one other post on this subject. Not sure if it's being sorted for Beta 2 or not though.

Since we play in instances of 32 players max (even if the number 32 may change), this point is moot anyway. Blockades are just not possible in E: D.

Very possible, but not as player driven events. Blockades are done by navies and megacorps, and effect everybody regardless of group or instance.

Hmm.. I missed this point. The server limits are 32 in the galaxy or the system limits are 32 or the actual planet/station instances are limited to 32 ?

Combat disconnects have been talked about repeatedly for months, there are plans but as yet, not implemented.

Yea it wouldnt let me search the forums using "log off" hence the repeat post, I guess.

The use of the word "instance" causes a lot of confusion as it doesn't work the way people expect from the term. It's known as an "Island" and is an area that follows you around. If you and another player are close enough, your islands merge. There will be a limit on how many islands can be merged that way with you, others may be in their own merged islands in the same area, it's just you may not see them.

Ah.. ok.. but are all the players on one large area server? And then they merge into islands of 32 as you move between systems? Because that is far superior to having 32 players on a server.

With the island system, if you are on a large server, then you will usually see lots of activity up to the limit of 32 players..
