Rides i do -not- want to see in PC

The title might sound a little weird, why would a certain ride not be in PC ?
Needless to say i wan't every possible ride in the game, but when i look back at RCT3 i would love to see some rides in a different way this time.

- Ghost House
Ofcourse we need a ghost house, but in older games this was just a creepy looking house. We don't know what happening inside, nor could we ride it. and to be honest i can't think of a real life ghost house that is actually just a house.

Much rather would i love to have the horror scenery or ghost scenery. Ofcourse we would need a ghost train or omnimover (Darkride!!) that way we can create our own realistic ghosthouse and i think (just my opinion ofcourse) we won't need the unrealistic ghost house we had in RCT3.

170

- Mad Houses (the one where you seem to rotate)
Its the same as the ghost house, you just see a house, there is nothing to theme, nothing to see. Im not exactlyt sure on how to do it, but would much rather love to maybe have a set of rotating chairs and i will make my own building around it. I don't know it this is the way to go, but the classic way of just plopping a complete building is not how i would like to see this ride return.

- 3D Cinema
This is another ride you could just plop somewhere without being able to theme it in any way.
I would much rather have a screen as a "ride" ...mayeb we can choose in 3 sizes so we can either create a small "cozy" movie theater. And with the big one we can have this big massive "Imax" kinda cinema.

We already had great example's of this in RCT3, but they were all just scenery and not really functioning as a ride. Would love it the 2 can be combined this time. Being a real ride, but let US make the building and seats.

Great RCT3 example of a cinema :

To put it in short, i dont like when we get rides there things are "supposed" to happen inside without us actually seeing it or having any influence over it.
In my opinion it is way too limiting in using our own creativeness when we have those rides the "old" way.

Ofcourse feel free to disagree, these are just my opinions ofcourse, im just curious how you people think about it?

I am ok with those ploppables if we can go inside and see, even if it is just still image. BUT I of course want to have the constructables too. Ghost ride parts to build dark ride and similar parts for the mad house equivalent.

3d cinema.. hmm it could both be ploppable and a "bare bone" something like the shop stalls in the alpha where you build a suitable building around.

In short : you don't want "prefabs" ?

I agree.

Prefabs are bad !
Prefabs are evil !
Prefabs are ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ !

It was just my opinion the old way's are a bit obselete if we have the new way of creating them.
but ofcourse im happy as well if we have -both- versions [happy]

Great...

English isn't my first language, i spend like 30 minutes writing everything down the best way i can, wondering if i'm actually saying what i WANT to say.. and then you come and sum it all up in like 4 word's.

"I don't want prefabs" ... indeed, nothing to add [ugh]

;)

I accept every rides in the game, the more the better. If I really don't like anything of it, I can decide not to build it. It's that easy.

Great thread!
I agree that we don´t need the prefab ghost house anymore. Since Planet Coaster is all about creativity and freedom we should be able to create our own
dark rides.
Maybe in addition to omnimovers they could add walk through attraction. So the attraction would just be a special path that players can theme, then the "ride" would be judged on how exciting the theming is. This would add another ghost house option besides a ride.

I love the idea of being able to create our own madhouses or cinemas. The screen could be like a billboard in RCT3, so we can add a picture to simulate different movies.

I honestly thing there are still some people who don´t need to bother with themeing like everything... Adding prefabs is nothing bad in my opinion. People who don´t want to spend so much time on theming would welcome them.

As much rides (but on a better choise, as more personalizable than amount of them) better.

Please, let us personalize different rides *_* Not only coaster cars. We know coaster cars are something awesome but, i would be nice to personalize that themed vehicles in other rides like Swirl or, u know :$ Not all need to be personalizable but some of them can get a full personalized theme just changin the main simbol-figure on the middel or planes by jets/spaceships :)

While that is CERTAINLY a valid perspective, and there's nothing wrong with that mindset, in terms of resources and time, having fewer prefabs could mean more content in areas that people DO want to build. :)

Indeed!!

Thats actually what i ment, in a perfect universe we would have 100 flatrides and 1001 themes.
But there is only so much time and recources.

As dont get me wrong, im never against adding -anything- but only if it takes recoursed from things i rather had [happy]

Funny you mentioned movie theaters

Made that in game not to long ago

see, how awesome would it be if that would be actually functional [big grin]

I think the perfect balance is to not have pre-fabs that don't do anything (they are basically scenery), and instead have "mini-rides", tracks that are small and can turn sharply to do rides like you see at Disney's castle (Winnie the Pooh, etc.). Provide the theater seats and let someone design their own custom theater... to make it make money just add a concession stand or cash register somewhere...

As for Haunted House type rides, same as the mini rides above... allow creating small rails or tracks that can turn sharply but do not go fast, this allows for many twists and turns so you can use a smaller footprint area for the "ride" and still build the haunted house walls outside. (Of course this means more variety in wall exteriors, roofs, etc - which will come in due time).

In that respect the existing bathrooms, food and beverage are also "pre-fabs" and rather boring after a while. Would love to be able to design whole restaurants and dining areas with tables, umbrellas, outdoor patios, and all the counters and things that are needed to serve. (Kind of like Restaurant Tycoon). This allows for more imagination and creativity. And originality. (Even bathroom designs so you can make any size you need - small or large facilities).

Lastly, would be great to see ability to integrate hotels into the map of the game. Would be great to build a true resort amusement park.

I'd love to have the option to include haunt mazes. where we can build mazes and theme them ourselves!

since I'm on the topic of seasonal attractions I would like to have an expansion where seasons play a factor in your theming to boost the guests appeal.
we can theme the park to say christmas and halloween but the sets are only visible during a set period of time during each season.

It is, sorta. kinda, I put in stalls inside, so guests do walk into it, buy food, drinks, hats, use toilets, they then walk right back out, but seeing as the game says 2 hours have passed after the guests walk out you could SAY they saw a film, even if they didn't at all ;-)

Well, personally I would like a 3D cinema of some sort, but maybe one that's more easily re-themable? I mean, many parks do actually have cinemas.

I like the idea of "make your own horror house". A ride where you just build a path with maybe a few "special pieces" that include costumed staff members), and the excitement rating is determined by the scenery next to it or something. That'd be sweet!

As for rides I DON'T wanna see... Hmmm...
Frankly? Almost anything with built in theming. I think that 9 times out of 10, the time spent giving a ride built in theming (*COUGH*like most of the flat rides curently in the game COUGH*) could be much better spent on other stuff.
(I mean, the occasional themed ride isn't bad, as long as we have a non themed alternative)

Ghost house always reminds me of the Haunted Mansion at Disney World, though I would love to see inside it. They do have the train/car rides which I built my own custom "spooky house" with haunted scenery around it in RCT3 which worked well. I would like to see more features added to making our own custom haunted houses, but that could be a bit much to ask for.

As for other "in-door" flat rides that simulate something (like VR rides or Cinemas) I'm alright with them being in the game the way they were in RCT3 as long as they are somewhat more customizable somehow. They should just have it be a "theater stage" and we can building the whole set around it, and pick what goes on stage, different performances or something

I think it'd be cool if there was a ride editing tool, sort of like the stations. You can stick objects on rides like the regular building system, except you can do it on moving parts which stick to them.
