Sick of you terrain clipping through your paths?

Are you sick of the terrain clipping through your paths?

Here is a quick solution:

I haven't had an issue thus far this doesn't work tbh. It can't clip through if it is no longer there?

I have tried this. It can work occasionally but most of the time it still clips just further down the path. Also, if you are working in an area where you have spent ages crafting the terrain, flattening/smoothing may ruin it.

Hopefully, the devs know about this one and are coming up with a better solution. [happy]

The issue I think is the way the two types of path (elevated, flat) act with the terrain. You can see this from the straight edge of the terrain clipping through between the two path types.

The flat one is simple. Whatever terrain is below - Stick to it like paint.

With elevated paths, it can't do that or the whole section will stick to the terrain. It can't act as both a flat and elevated path. Which it really needs to do. Those sections need a way of detecting the terrain and half sticking to it and half not...

I think this will be ironed out when they add the option for paths to adjust the terrain (like the coasters do with tunneling). At the moment it seems the paths can't affect the ground at all, but hopefully later they'll have the option to have it affect the ground around it and be able to tunnel without building a tunnel first which would also hopeful help solve the ground clipping through like above on regular flatter land.

Currently, auto-tunneling is a feature that is in the works. You can turn it on and see that it is very glitchy. Hopefully alpha 3 will have this incorporated better, because it is almost impossible to make a nice hill with a path going up it.

I was thinking the same, once auto tunneling is enabled, paths will push the ground down so no more clipping..... hopefully....
