Planet Coaster has nearly made 2 million already

Just found this post on Kotaku. Seems they have sold quite a bit already and we just this early in the Alpha.

Going to be interesting to see how well the game will sell the longer we progress in the future. As well as when/if Planet Coaster will come on Steam (think that would really boost sales as well).
[yesnod]

EDIT to add: Seems they converted the 1 million pounds to Australian dollars instead of USD. USD would be around 1.46 (thanks SymphonyX for noticing)

Good for them. I would like them to support this title for a long time to come so I hope it sets them up for the long haul.

Notice that the picture they use has attractions with different color schemes? I like those. Or did they use an old stockphoto of the game?

But that's nice, shows Frontier has a good product.

I think it's an old photo and not one from thel playable build we have today. A few things.

The Que lines are simple switchback divided by rails and not a small path going back and forth. it's actually something that a lot of people has been asking for.

The Shops (although we don't have these styles yet) don't work like the ones we do have and can place. the tea shop they placed right on the path when we have to have a lttle connecting path for our shop fronts. And the Pizza shop looks like it was placed in the middle of a path.

i also noticed that the paths all have sharp corners where the turn unlike the smooth rounded corners we can make.

Nice, they deserve it.

I still haven't pre-ordered the game (don't have a PC suitable just yet) but I watch PC youtube videos every day and it only makes me more excited for when I get it.

I hope this success is an indication of many expansion packs post release. I would love to see frontier remake RCT3 Soaked and Wild

"Apart from having around 8.9 million pounds (just over $17 million at today’s rates) in the bank, the board added that Planet Coaster has already generated more than 1 million pounds ($1,911,080)."

[where is it] I don't know where this article's author gets it's GBP to USD conversion numbers from, but the current conversion rate is 1 GBP = 1.461 USD. Therefore, 8.9 million GBP is actually 13.00 million USD, not 17 Million. Also, 1 million GBP is 1.46 million USD...[rolleyes]

It's the Australian Kotaku, so they're converting to AU dollars, not U.S. dollars.

Congrats to Frontier - it is a testament to the excellence of the Alpha and to the fact that this genre has so many enthusiasts!! [up]

Oh yeah, good catch. I didn't notice that.

Seeing that old screenshot again, other than the teacups ride I want I also hope we will see similar objects, such as the pizza stall, the cute teacups/pot decoration.... looks like the ticket booth = teapot!

I hope they will use some of that to actual game.

After launch they will add darkrides "if the game sells well".

Guess we can be pretty sure about darkrides then? [big grin]

I bought it[ and my computer wont even play it. I consider it a donation. This is going to be a great game. [happy]

I'm in the same donation boat at the moment, but I think a new gpu will be bought within the next 3 days! I'll get to play PC and learn how to code for the gpus so I can get a better job. Yay.
